Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 There's only one way to cook a steak, and well done is not it... Not sure the analogy holds. We are talking about steak though, right? It sounds like RB prefers a well done steak. If that's the case, he's cooking steaks the wrong way. diehardtwinsfan 1

So, the question is if you want Grossman off the bench as a 4th OF. Well, he isn't a defensive improvement. Offensively, you could bat him for Buxton, but if you are going to bat someone for Buxton, why not bat a guy who has more power? So, I would prefer ABW or Palka coming off the bench over Grossman. I think Buxton will be brought up to stay. What's the point of watching him clobber AAA pitching? We know he can do that. So, I see him on the roster and playing CF where he is a game changer.

I don't think Walker is a MLB player and wouldn't want a K machine as PH. But the more important thing is that if you cut Grossman to bring up Palka or Walker then he is gone. If 1-2 of the OF'ers gets injured or needs a demotion then OF depth gets really thin really quick.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Based on his left field defense last night and today and based on that alone. Grossman would have to OPS over .900 to be worth bringing back. I'm not sure he can do that so... as of this moment... I'm moving on. Danchat 1
