alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Classic Mauer xbh there. Can't believe he actually fit that in there with the OF shifts. Teams generally are taking that away though... leaving a HUGE gap in RCF.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Mauer triples to lead off. Can we get a fly ball at least?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Buxton is apparently okay. And Joe checks in with a triple. Boom. Cory says left hand contusion, x-ray's negative.
PopRiveter Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Fair enough, didn't know about the oblique strain. However, the Twins shouldn't be trying to reduce the number of strikeouts, but increasing the offensive output. I don't if the team strikes out 2,000 times this year, as long as they walk 1,500 times, and hit 300 homers. The strikeout isn't bad--the strikeout with the accompanying OBP and dingers is bad.See what happens when someone can heroically groundout, rather than strikeout? A run. My God, a RUN!
70charger Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Cory says left hand contusion, x-ray's negative. "Negative X-Ray." Exhale.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 wow, somewhat of a Bronx cheer. weak, but an attempt at one.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Ground ball worked. Now another hit for Sano! What a rally!
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 2 hits in one inning? Stop showing off Twins!
Blake Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Good job Mr. Mauer and Mr. Plouffe.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 See what happens when someone can heroically groundout, rather than strikeout? A run. My God, a RUN! Good call, let's build an offense around them!
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Sano with a solid hit. 2 hits in 1 inning!?
70charger Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Can I bring up the announcers again? How does anyone in Chicago watch this!?
Blake Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 2 hits in one inning? Stop showing off Twins!Wow, that's a hit parade these days.
jbissell Provisional Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Before that Triple by Mauer, his OPS was 1.021. I know its extremely early in the season, but Joe is off to an awfully good start!
woolywoolhouse Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Three games, two runs on groundouts. Go offense!
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 In play, run(s)It's like I'm there.
Loosey Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 2 hits in one inning? Stop showing off Twins!I thought that was one of the new rules changes this year. No more than 1 hit per inning. I was wondering why the Twins haven't been complaining when other teams have done it.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Just tuned in. Just tuned out for a sanity break. Cosmic balance of the universe. Using the quiet time to contemplate what might make a good theme song for the '16 Twins. With the apparent Buxton injury (was he damaged while passing through the extreme forces of Sano's gravitational pull?) my first thought ran to REM's bouncy dirge (???) "It's the End of the World as We Know It". But upon further reflection, it seems a little early in the season to go with that, so my alternative was the more open-ended Talking Heads song "Road to Nowhere". David Byrne's insane crow caws at the end are therapeutic to yelp along with, and overall it has a very game thread-y feel to it. It's also fun to play along with if you happen to have a snare drum or accordion handy... Takeaway line of the day: "... maybe you wonder where you are; I don't care..." http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/9-25-2015/EtCFr4.gif

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I'll say this, the SP has not been bad at all. Hopefully once their bats heat up, the SP stays this good.
