TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 OJ Simpson and his Bronco for me.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Sounds like that was one of those "I remember exactly where I was when that happened" events... The Challenger. I think we've discussed that before.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 I was 5 when the OJ verdict and OKC bombing occurred... can't remember it well. Princess Diana was a big deal, but it didn't really affect me as a 7 year old. Columbine shooting is a little fuzzy... But the news story that I remember vividly is 9/11. Sixth grade at the time. We all congregated in one classroom where the teachers wheeled in a TV to watch the news. My teacher Miss Haggerty was trying to explain the situation to us, and couldn't hold back the tears. That was a terrible day.

ashbury Verified Member Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 To piggy back off of ben's post yesterday, what was your first crystal clear sports memory? Koufax squashing the Yankees like bugs, must have been 1963. Game was piped in to our classroom on the intercom, as a reward for being good kids apparently.
