Is this the day Molitor puts both Sano and Vargas in the lineup together (sit Joe due to a day game following a night game)?  Also, over at the Twins site, it was speculated that Hunter would be back in the outfield over Rosario today due to a left hander on the mound for Houston.  Honestly, at this point, I'd rather see Rosario get the start regardless, or even Danny Santana if Molitor feels like the matchup is too unfavorable for Eddie.  Love Hunter but his second half is not really small sample size anymore.

I'd play both Sano and Vargas today against the lefty. No way in hell should Hunter start ahead of Rosario, both are in tough against Keuchel anyway, they should play the best defensive outfield they can.

Sano, 3B

Vargas, DH

Rosario, LF

Kepler, 1B

Escobar, SS

Catcher

Buxton, CF

 

Would have been fun to see.

Sit Plouffe and Dozier while starting Buxton?  This isn't something I really want to see if the goal is to win the game.

 

I want to see Plouffe or Sano in RF because neither Buxton nor Hunter should be playing right now.

Your frustration is noted and understandable to a certain degree. But to propose Plouffe or Sano to play RF or the outfield in general is astonishingly unrealistic.

 

First of all, I doubt Sano will be able to play the field the rest of this season because of his leg issues. We are lucky to have him as the DH. I hope his hamstring holds up - without him in the line-up things become a lot more bleak than they are now.

 

The Twins tried to convert Plouffe to play the OF in spring training of 2012. They pulled the plug fairly quickly. He is definitely not an option.

 

These options are about as realistic to me as proposing the Twins move Mauer to CF, Play Vargas at 1B, and bench Hunter and Buxton.

 

It's not gonna happen. I really hope I never see a proposed Plouffe to the OF suggestion again. It's driving me mad.

 

My response, I hope, you do not take personally, it wasn't meant to be that way. Plouffe and Sano in the OF is not gonna happen in 2015.

I would have liked to see Plouffe in RF too. But with Sano's hamstring I think we have seen him at 3B for the last time in 2015. So it's irrelevant. The other option would be to put Mauer out there, but that won't happen. I hope they ask him to play some OF in 2016, however.

 

For 2015, the only way Vargas is getting starts is if Mauer sits, which he should 2-3 times a week.
