Pizza for me is topped without any red sauce and greasy meats. It's been said that a white pizza is not pizza, but it's all I can stomach, literally.

Under those parameters, you have to be missing out on some great pizza choices in Chicago!

I'm with you 100% North. If I could eat pizza every day of the week I would. Unfortunately my metabolism is slowing down (stupid mid-20's!) and now I have to mix in a salad every now and again to prevent my waist line increasing... sigh, adulthood.

I couldn't and wouldn't eat pizza every day, and I'm still in my teens. Maybe it's a girl thing? My family has it every blasted week, and I don't want to see it (much less taste it) for ten whole years once I fly the coop.

Then I'll sit down and have a whole one complete with anchovies. Though wait...did you mention metabolisms slowing down? Heck, I guess a decade's a pretty long time. I won't be able to eat whatever, whenever without gaining a pound anymore. That must be the worst fact of growing old.

Maybe I'll just have to adopt the "look delicious or eat delicious" mentality.

I'd say most of the pizza we make at home has no sauce....olive oil, spinach, caramelized onion, and then various cheeses/meats/savories (though sometimes just cheese).

When are you inviting me to dinner? :)

You still have time to eat whatever you want whenever you want. My entire college career consisted of burritos, pizza, all you can eat buffets, and alcohol without gaining a pound. Now at 25 I can drink a pumpkin spice milkshake and my a$$ jiggles for a week.

My advice to you...

I can see a lot of you young people are really going to enjoy your 50's. :)

Well, what the heck! You only live once...I'm serious! Might as well make the best of it. You can lose all the weight you ever wanted to and then some from the grave.

Now I feel like I need a video of the doc in Annie Hall telling Alvy not to worry and just enjoy life while we're here because Brooklyn apparently isn't expanding as fast as the universe....

You're dead to me.....

By the way, best pizza in Austin is Via 313... I'm picking this up tonight in honor of the National Holiday

Chicken Alfredo pizza is one of my favorites and it's a white pizza.

Chicken Bacon Ranch (that also has a white sauce) also very good.  Can get a good one at Papa Murphy's.

Today is National Indian Pudding day. I don't believe I've had it before. But the pictures look good! And you can top it with ice cream, which is always a win in my book.

I'll skip the pudding and go right for the ice cream, tyvm. :)

One of my friends suggested today should just be a regular day, so we can have a break from special ones. I posted on FB that every day is a special day with my wife.....feelin' good about tonight...

I've thought and read more about Aaron Hicks the last 2 days than I have in 3 years... Exhausting. Time to get back to the fun thread.

Today's National Day sucked. But tomorrow is one I think we can all get on board with. National Pickle Day! And also, National Spicy Guacamole Day!

Posted

Neither food nor holiday, but I think it's the 75th anniversary of the premier of Fantasia. Worth recognizing, I'd say.

Oh, and I find the Hicks threads to be part comedy, part raving. Still trying to decide which part is which.

I'd love to stay out of the Hicks thread, but it's a minefield so I can't.

I like pickles, what's a hot dog without pickles? I think I could eat spicy guacamole almost as much as pizza. Beer and spicy guacamole are the food marriage made in heaven.

I eschewed National Fast Food Day and instead had a delicious bowl of Pho at my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary.

When is National Pho Day I wonder? I'm going to make it a marathon.

Despite the fact I'm not American and these are not really my National Days, it's still fun to live vicariously through you all.

My favorite part of reading the site is the "millions of Americans gather to celebrate....." as if anyone even knows these days exist.

Today is National Baklava Day. Looks to be a little too time consuming for me to make that. I want my desserts fast, and NOW!

It's also National Take a Hike Day. So I will use that as motivation to hike to my local liquor store after work.

Baklava Day?

Well, off to Acropolis for lunch, suits me.

Frankly, the upcoming days look pretty lame for the most part.....

I thought that was the point of these national days....??
