Oh, and just so you know, not that you want to know, while you all were talking about which women you want to be on an island with, I bought 2 pairs of shoes. That was much more interesting to me. :)

Your beard is as good as this? Good for you, I am jealous.

My beard smokes that...and you should taste my vol au vent.

They have a paper catalog? That's a waste when it's much easier to just use the computer.

Why get a computer when you can spend hours completing an order form out of a catalog and wait 3 weeks for your shoes to arrive?

So while we were selflessly offering to sacrifice ourselves for the Twins you were thinking only of your own feet?

Oh gawd ... that was frightful. Whew! Robinson caught it!

I am liking Robinson and Nunez tonight.

Somehow I'm not sure the sacrifice would actually be yours in the scenarios you were presenting.

I cooked chicken catch a tory for dinner tonight. They had fresh tories at the grocery store and I couldn't resist.

That's right, step on the punch line. :)

My insanely great neighbor roasted duck for my wife and I tonight. Horrid execution, but I appreciated someone cooking for me, and I love his confidence, cooking stuff like that, when he knows I'll excoriate him later.

The second video down is my girl handling a post game interview, in Italian, without much of a hitch. She screws up at the end. Her teammates gave her appropriate crap afterward.

I don't speak a word of Italian, but I know an American accent when I hear one. :)

Seriously, good for her. I can't even play volleyball and she can do it while mastering a second language.

I would never ever ever ever cook for you, not even for one of Brian's insane scenarios where the Twins win the WS for the rest of eternity.

My wife and I took Italian classes all winter, since it looks like that's where she's going to play out her pro career.

Um, there was a punchline there? Guess I missed that.

It's OK, Cicely Strong didn't have much in the way of punchlines tonight either, and she still got applause.

No, not really a punch line per se, just the whole series of posts was predicated on the observation you made.

My boss is constantly correcing my Italian pronunciation. Once in his office, in front of a group of people, he asked how a pronounced a particular word. Since he said the word, I looked at him and said 'Just like that.' He laughed. And I got out of possibly saying it incorrectly.

That dry-assed duck was like manna from Heaven. I love it when other people feed me.

Oh, you mean a whole series of nonsense posts that is the game thread?

It's an interesting language. I took 4 years of Latin, so Italian came pretty easy, but they have a ton of words borrowed from other languages, and they are sticklers for cleaning words up and matching suffixes.
