During Pelfrey's start today Lavelle tweeted that he saw him give up home runs to Byron Buxton, Mike Gonzalez, Travis Harrison, and Adam Brett Walker. Pretty rough start if you ask me.

I am certain Pelfrey has worked hard to return from a second lost season. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to work back from Tommy John and then lose almost another full season. I hope his efforts pay off in the best season of his career.

Not really, if he felt like practicing his changeup and was not working for him.

I have seen Pelfrey pitch, but not enough to really tell you from personal knowledge what his pitch mix is. But according to reports, he is a fastball pitcher without a very good secondary mix, in other words a classic bullpen guy! But Meyer who has two plus pitches cannot start here because he needs an off speed pitch? Yes, I know his. control is an issue, but tall pitchers historically struggle with that issue. They knew he was 6'9" when they signed him! As the old tale goes: the lion was eating the mouse who pulled the thorn from his paw. When the mouse asked why he was being consumed despite assurances to the contrary, the lion said, "you knew I was a lion when you helped me"!

That he did.  The first 3 in I think the 3rd inning.  But he finished strong in the last 3 innings.  He probably had around 7 k's in 6 innings today.  Milone got hit around also, but not that bad.  He gave up a run in the 1st on a Hicks double and Ortiz single.  Hicks had at least 2 hits today as did Ortiz.

Pelfrey sawed off Buxton to lead off the game, and all eyes were on the bat.  But Byron ended up leaving with it.  Walker hit 2 absolute bombs into the street, the last on off May.  Pinto didn't look to good today, and on one play, runner on first took off for second and Pinto threw to first.  Stand up stolen base.

I hope someone (Sacamento) has film and/or photos of Buxton's HR.  Love his quick swing.  Generates a lot more power than his frame would indicate.  Was there a nice crowd on the final day?

Actually not alot of fans.  Some relatives, including Buxton's folks and sister, and Daulton Hicks folks.  Action on 3 fields though so it was scattered.  Sacamento did take some photos.  And he spent some time watching Sano get worked very hard.
