Really good 1-2 curve ball there by Nolasco, strike 3.  Man I hope he can "regress" back to his career averages this year.

And DeJesus hits a "double", which was basically a medium fly ball that Arcia jogged toward.  Apparently the wind carried it and the ball ended up bouncing on the warning track.  That looked like a t-ball outfield play.

The End

(er a little late. I'm afraid i napped, and missed Meyer walking for and King 3. And Pinto gunning down a runner!)

Don't miss the next exciting spring training installment:

A Half o' Pittsburgh ventureth into Hammond Stadium.

Well, i suppose you can miss it. Just remembered NCAA Basketball is happening, and everyone still has hope. Good times!

Just went back and watched Meyer pitch again after not really paying attention the first time. Holy struggles with fastball command, batman! At least he was able to throw the curve over, which got him out of the second inning. He got bailed out of his first inning bases loaded with one out jam by a guy swinging at ball four in a full count. For a guy trying to win the 5th starter job, it was pretty disappointing. I guess he did only give up one run on one hit over two innings...

I know it's early, but I was disappointed in the Twins play today. As was mentioned above:

1.) Rosario not sliding on the steal to second. Looks to me that he pulled a Hicks-maybe thought Vargas strikeout was 3rd out??)

2.) Flyball that Arcia dogged or was fooled that turned into a double. He's one of my favorites, but that's unacceptable!

3.) 15 hopper that went up the middle, either fooling Santana and Bernier, or another lack of effort. Might have been a DP, but if one of those guys at least knock it down, it keeps the DP in order.

4.) Lack of strikes from Meyer. Disappointing! I was hoping he'd be the 5th starter, but it looks like he needs more seasoning. Interesting to see what Seth thinks.

5.) Bases loaded- no out= 0 runs. Need to do better in that situation.

I realize that it's around the half-way point in the exhibition games, and only 3 or 4 starters played, but I guess my standards are high. Results don't really matter now, but effort does!

In regards to Meyer, Niel Allen and Co. are tinkering with him too much, if you ask me,... Just put

him in the 'pen and end it already.

Let him within the next 2 seasons pitch his way into the rotation (it only takes a week or 2 to stretch a guy out from the Bullpen)

Also Eduardo Nunez might get cut, Caleb Thielbar might as well, JR Graham should get sent packing back to atlanta......and Kennys Vargas would be lucky to begin the year in Rochester let alone New Britain.

Danny Santana will be the leadoff man, but i think its risky , very risky.

Trevor May please do something good, so we have someone to talk about.

Kennys has had a good spring at bat. What do you see wrong with him?

He's in for a brutal month of April at the big league level, he hacks and hacks and hacks some more, is out of shape (really a shame)  And doesn't provide any defensive value   (power is a rare commodity) and I'm looking forward to "future power" contributions from Kennys

But send him to AAA is the way to go , obviously.
