Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 According to the Pioneer Press's John Shipley, Beloit Snappers 2B Eddie Rosario will be placed on the Disabled List. During Batting Practice today, he was struck in the face by a ball. He was taking ground balls at 3B at the time. I'll update this thread as I hear more, but depending upon where it hit him, it could be severe, or it could just be the 7 days.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 just hope the kid is alright. Sounds like a freak thing
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 The team hasn't announced anything at this time.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 Facial fracture, just below the lip, per Joe Christensen. Says out six weeks.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Facial fracture, just below the lip, per Joe Christensen. Says out six weeks.Let me dig on this a bit because it does not make sense. And here is why it does not make sense: as far as head bones go, you got the skull and the jaw. and below the lip is the jaw and not the face. Below the top lip they are just teeth... I know they are reporting what they are giving them, but it might be a jaw thing.

Says out six weeks.(*checked it)Nose... not lip Not too good and he will probably have dental issues as well. But nothing that affects the brain/balance (like a concussion) and he would be fine. Wishing him a quick recovery
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I am very sorry to hear this. Why the heck was he at third base?
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 The cynical side of me says the Twins front office is fine with it as it keeps Roasario (Sano also) @ Beloit all season, like they prefer to handle it. I also hate 'the butterfly effect' of it since if he was promoted to Ft Myers like his play has dictated....this doesnt happen.

Myers yet... so, although I get your theory, it's just not fair. And, the best thing for Sano and Rosario woudl be for them to spend a full season in the Midwest League, as did fast risers, Mauer and Revere... and Morneau... and... It's nothing mor than a bad, unfortunate 'break' to a great player.
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Well at least TD contributor Adam Pettersen should get some time at his actual position now.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Well at least TD contributor Adam Pettersen should get some time at his actual position now. Here's to hoping that Rosario has the same intestinal fortitude that Revere had a couple of years ago. Shake it off, get healthy, get after it! Best wishes Eddie Rosario!
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I wonder if the Twins would forward any "Get Well Soon" cards that we send to the front office?
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Hey Mazzilli, there's an infield spot up for grabs in Beloit. Sign your damn offer and be thankfull you were the first of only two college infielders drafted by the Twins this year.
SweetOne69 Verified Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I am very sorry to hear this. Why the heck was he at third base?Because you can't field grounders @ 2B during BP.
Boom Boom Verified Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Ouch! That sounds very painful, but not terribly serious. I hope he's back soon.
luckylager Verified Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I wonder if the Twins would forward any "Get Well Soon" cards that we send to the front office?I'm pretty sure they have mail delivery in Beloit.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Looks like Steven Liddle got demoted (from last season) to Beloit to take Rosario's spot.
jtrinaldi Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Once he is cleared to play I wouldnt be surprised to see him just stay in Fort Myers after Rehab.
tcarlic Verified Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 So if I sent a TTM, would he still receive the letter and card?
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 It appears that he will be having surgery next Tuesday -- here is the link to the story on the Twins' website: http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120613&content_id=33247264¬ebook_id=33247270&vkey=notebook_min&c_id=min Let's hope that the doctor does a great job.
