ashbury Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Arcia strikes out. Fitting end, just as I get back.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Well, that was fun ..... not. I do like these east coast times, though.Helps that they got it finished in a crisp 2:40, 10 total runs notwithstanding.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 When do we get the first tweet of Trevor Mays demotion?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Would it be useful to pay attention to the AAA game? I think that's still going on.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 When do we get the first tweet of Trevor Mays demotion? Probably next year, what with the AAA season winding down? And hopefully not. He could figure something out. Stranger things have happened.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Nice catch, Schafer! (and yeah, i liked his effort on the Delmon Dinger. I bet an element of the inconclusivity of it was the possibility of bouncing off the top of the wall and over.) We can't base our decisions on what 'could have' happened. We can only go based on the evidence that is there. And in this case, the fan's glove was in the field of play. It wouldn't have had any bearing on the final outcome of the game and there's no sense arguing it but for my own education, I'm very curious as to how they came to this determination. Maybe Gardy will say something about it in postgame.
alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 (If you mean the attempt to save the HR.) Could break a wrist or forearm on a play like that. Looks like he just plain missed the ball. Went into the fan's glove cleanly. I was referring to when he was on first with a runner on third and 2 outs. Didn't see that other play.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 It seems to me that May is showing flashes of goodness and we might want to be more patient with him. Eight strikeouts in 4.2 innings suggests to me that he may one day be a solid pitcher. Yes, he hit two batters then gave up a grand slam, but before that he seemed to be doing pretty well.

ashbury Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Yes, he hit two batters then gave up a grand slam, but before that he seemed to be doing pretty well. And Malaysia 370 was doing pretty well until they turned off the transponder.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Red Wings are possible playoff bound... Correct?I think they were two games out of the wildcard going into tonight's game but they do hold their destiny in their hands as they play Pawtucket before it's over.

His confidence canteen has to be bone dry right now.

They're up by 1, and just got a contentious 3rd strike for the 3rd out of the 8th inning with a runner on 3rd. Batter (at least) was thrown out for arguing.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 And Malaysia 370 was doing pretty well until they turned off the transponder. You sure you want to joke about that? 239.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Red Wings are possible playoff bound... Correct? You sure you want to joke about that? 239.Red Wings did win the game vs. Buffalo to move past the Bison in the standings. They still trail Pawtucket by 1.5 games and must sweep the Pawsox in order to make the playoffs (2 game series). I suspect the tight race is keeping May or Milone from being "optioned" so that the Twins could add a reliever to their bullpen for the rest of the Baltimore series.
