Okay, Bri ... your turn ... am in a rush or I'd say something witty for you ...

--------------------------

Head Rush? Sugar Rush? Caffeine Rush? Traffic Rush? Tom Sawyer Rush?

Things to Think About:

1. The World Cup -- Yeah... The World Cup... The folks are interested in the United States of America. The Game against Germany had 25.1 Million Viewers. That's More Viewers than any of the World Series Games... NBA Finals or Stanley Cup Finals. Only The Super Bowl had more viewers... So Yeah... The World Cup. We Lost today and we lost to the better team but we came extremely close to winning it at the end of extra time. Tim Howard was brilliant but it wasn't enough. So Now I have to adopt another team to finish this thing up and I will. I'm thinking Belgium because then we can say we lost to the eventual champs.

2. Baseball -- Yeah... Baseball... Folks are interested in Baseball in the state of Minnesota. Last nights game against Kansas City had 396 Viewers... That's more viewers than the total number of people who watched Ishtar... Or Adam Richman smear food all over his face. Or the Collegiate Cross Country Championships. So Yeah... Baseball. We lost last night but we really didn't come close at all to winning it in 9 innings. Chris Parmelee was brilliant at the plate but it wasn't enough... So Now I have to adopt another team to finish this thing up... I'm thinking Belgium because I'm hungry and a waffle sounds pretty good.

3. James Shields -- 32 Years old from Newhall California. I believe the city of Newhall is located in a canyon and because of that... James's voice will echo naturally... Therefore he rarely speaks because people are unnerved by this. He was drafted in the 16th round by Tampa Bay in the 2000 draft. Early in his minor league career he suffered a serious shoulder injury and I just want to say that "Suffered a Serious Shoulder" is easier to type than it is to say... I'll pause why you all say "Suffered a Serious Shoulder" 10 Times fast... (Pause)..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................See what I mean... It's tough to say. The injury cost him velocity but it also forced him to change his approach to pitching and that change was a change and that change has paid off. He gets by... quite well with a fastball/change combo and he locates both pitches very well while keeping hitters off balance.

4. Brian Dozier -- Brian is taking the night off and I think that's good... We are a little healthier now and I think it would be wise to rotate a few players to the bench for a game. Someone else can take a day off tomorrow. This offense is starting to atrophy from inactivity and it's getting kinda hard to watch. Brian Dozier is 10 for his last 50. Willingham is 5 for his last 36... He could use some more time off. Kendrys Morales is 8 for his last 54... Even Kendrys could be planted on the bench for a game. Escobar is 6 for his last 36... He isn't as much fun when he does that and Fuld is 7 for his last 37. Oswaldo Arcia is a terrible 5 for his last 38... But 5 for 38 is pretty good after going 0 for 227. Parmelee, Mauer and Suzuki are the only players that have a pulse right now.

5. Being Hated -- I was talking to an old classmate at the reunion. He said that he almost didn't come to the reunion because "Everybody Hated him in High School" I told him "That was ridiculous... Not everybody knew you."

Yeah ... I'm usually fine in my condo ... just have to make sure nothing is 'loose' on my balcony or it won't be there in the morning.

Is still windy today, too. But nice. Was out on my pool deck ... then too many screaming children arrived with their parents in tow and I lost my serenity so came indoors.

Dear Dick/Bert,

I'm just not sure that looking better losing is all that much consolation.

You could see that hit coming 5 pitches in advance. I was rooting for a walk there. Ugh. Nolasco is a true mental midget this year.

Parmelee and Nolasco.

Unfortunately, it seems like Nolasco is a "burden to bear".

I just found out I'm spending most of my winter in Kyoto. I couldn't be more psyched.

Too cool. National team going to be there?
