Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Where is our rally bunny? Or Rally Rhino
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 A $10,000 flight for Doug Bernier, perfectly reasonable. If there is another injury tomorrow, it will seem reasonable to me.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I can't imagine a knee injury that isn't serious enough to get the player a trip to the DL. It is strange that he pulled up while running straight ahead. I thought "cramp" or "hamstring" and when it was reported that he hurt his knee, all I can think is ACL. Yeah... It's gonna be interesting.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 BTW, to make room on the 40-man, the team could designate Pino, and actually they could just bring up a Bernier or Romero and temporarily go down to 12 pitchers. Then May or someone else could be recalled when it is time for Pino's turn. That way a DL trip for Santana could be delayed for a few days. Unless there's a career minor league exception, doesn't Pino still have all of his options left?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 This is my guess... Pino Down and infielder here quick. I'm not sure who they remove from the 40. New pitcher comes up when Plouffe comes off the DL.If they DFA Pino, that creates the 40-man spot.

Yeah, he didn't look good trying to put full weight on it after he pulled into 2nd, it looked like a lot more than a ding. Hope to be proven wrong.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 If they DFA Pino, that creates the 40-man spot. Plenty of other candidates, as well.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Unless there's a career minor league exception, doesn't Pino still have all of his options left?I suppose he does have all his options, but he is also a 30-year old career minor leaguer who doesn't throw that hard. At least Albers was a lefty.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 If they DFA Pino, that creates the 40-man spot. Most likely... Or Pressly. But whoever comes up will probably go down again in quick fashion after a weekend.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Or Rally Rhino Though i think i failed to comment last night, all them pictures were fun to see. I don't know if it is fact or not, but i am under the impression rhinos actually put fires out, or something like that. So maybe we should have a Rhino Pen, rather than a bull pen. Anyway, i don't care what we call it, i just hope to see Twins score runs.

glunn Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 If it's really the knee, maybe it makes sense to just put Santana on the DL.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 That was a nice hit by Morales. Now we need this to keep going. Arcia needs to be patient.

It was definitely a strange looking injury, you're right his inability to put much weight on it afterwards is concerning. It's pretty odd that it would be his ACL when he wasn't making any lateral, hard turns. ACL injuries are usually caused by hard cuts and starting and stopping quickly. Unless he had a minor tear to begin with.

curt1965 Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Can anyone remember when a 25 and 40 man roster was so screwed up?
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 The Angels announcers are talking about Weaver's no hitter against the Twins. I was at that game and am praying that the Twins can get at least one hit tomorrow.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Plenty of other candidates, as well.Disabled list--Plouffe and Nuñez. Pitchers not with the team but on the 40-man--Darnell, Ibarra, K Johnson, May, Pressley, Tonkin. Positions players--Pinto, Herrmann, Polanco, Vargas, Colabello, Hicks, and Max Kepler.

The Young ladies on this site have a particular taste. Sometimes its whiskey and cigarettes and sometimes it is fine wine and caviar.

glunn Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Geez. Six steals against Burton this year and no one thrown out. Other teams are figuring out that it takes him a long time to deliver a pitch.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Author Posted June 26, 2014 Fine wine and caviar .... that may be ChiTown. But I'm just always a Margarita and Nachos kind of girl. I'm with you on that, JB. Margaritas are about the only thing I will drink anymore when I do have a drink. Wine? Fish eggs? <scrunches up nose> An occasional cold beer on a hot day, but I stop at one. And I might, might, have a glass of champagne to celebrate something fun, accompanied by fresh strawberries. But margaritas, yes, that's my 'go to.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Twins catchers/pitchers have now thrown out 7 of 54 potential base-stealers ... a percentage of .130. This must be the worst in the league, if not approaching the worst in history?
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Fryer, Fuld and Florimon. Our chances don't look great, but if the Twins win this it will be memorable.
