I saw a tweet a day or two ago that Max Murphy signed for $130,000. I wrote it down but didn't save the source though.

Don't know if Cotillo was right though because I can't find anything else.

May have been premature.

Anyone else think Andro Cutura will sign WAYYYYYYYYY under slot and allow us to sign Cederoth?

I read an article that says Cederoth wants seven figures. Someone else here may have better info, but if that's right, given that slot is 700k, we'll need to free up a lot more than most of Cutura's slot. I'm guessing, though, that the Twins wouldn't have drafted him at third if they hadn't already negotiated a rough outline of a deal and figured out how to come up with the money they need.

Sam Clay is a reach. I think that some of his $ will go Cederoth's way.

That was Kiley McDaniel who said that. As soon as the Twins drafted Cederoth, I reached out to a Twins source and said I'd heard that. His response: You got bad info.

It's really important that the Top 10 guys sign and I'd be really surprised if they failed to reach a deal with any of those guys.

As we read, DeMuth hurt himself last year by essentially lying to a Twins area scout (allegedly)... The Twins try to sign their top 15 picks. and then several after that.

"mntwins 33rd-rounder Trey Vavra (1B, Florida Southern) has agreed to terms. Bonus is the usual $1,000 given to college seniors." According to Mike Berardino. Twitter.

They make these guys sign in blood now? That seems... harsh.

With Nick Gordon's family tree, we probably should've insisted on his first born in his deal, too.

With Cutura, Murphy and Clay done, the Twins have saved $121,600. Maybe Burdi or Cederoth get some of that, otherwise it's essentially freed up the Twins to pay someone from round 11-40, 6th round money.

The Twins are starting to accumulate quite a bit of leftover slot money.

If they do accumulate a couple hundred thousand after the Top 10 are signed, what high school kids did they draft who would be considered big catches if signed?

Tweet from LEN 3:

Now they have signed seventh round pick Andro Cutura, a righthander from Southeastern Louisiana, and 10th round pick Randy LeBlanc, a righthander from Tulane.

LeBlanc signed in the Cities the same time Cutura did, but we don't know a bonus. There was a tweet from TwinsPics that showed them both signing. (Seth pointed it out to me.)

It also sounds like Steele is done.

The only draft picks currently (as of yesterday) were Gordon and Gonzalez, so I'm not sure if they're flying the college guys to the Cities or what...

3B McCarthy Tatum (20th round, committed to Fresno State) and C John Jones (39th round, committed to Miami). But I don't think they'll convince either to sign.

I would say it's more likely that they use the savings on Burdi and Cederoth. Figured Gonzalez would cost more too, but that all happened pretty quick.

McCarthy Tatum, great name, nice size (6'4" 180#) and appears to be able to pitch (HS team pitcher of the year) as well as hit. Tatum's HS team is Cali state champion and ranked by Baseball America #4 in the nation.

Is he a definite "No!"? Perhaps not:

McCarthy Tatum @mccarthytatum22 · Jun 7

Looks like I have a new favorite team! #GoTwins

Fresno or Ft Myers? Plus a nice chunk of change in his pocket. And maybe the Twins buy him his college scholarship. This would be the kind of signing that helps to make more sense of the early rounds. Does anyone have a better breakdown of his strengths and ceiling?
