glunn Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Maybe we keep Nunez long-term?.....as a post-season Yankee-killing specialist.... I hope you are not jokin about that.
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Who's the Twins mop-up guy? Maybe let him create a save situation for Perk? Twins still need an ASG rep.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 This might be my favorite game of the year. (and my 9-5 prediction doesn't look too silly now)

Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 This might be my favorite game of the year. (and my 9-5 prediction doesn't look too silly now) Other than the total runs score, the margin of victory, and the number of runs scored by each team...no your prediction doesn't look silly!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 I will not be able to breathe until we score the next 3 outs
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I will not be able to breathe until we score the next 3 outsWell, keep posting, because if we go more than 2 minutes without hearing from you, I'm calling Chicago 911.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Thielbar. I like Thielbar too, jb, but do you really think he should be our ASG rep?
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Well, keep posting, because if we go more than 2 minutes without hearing from you, I'm calling Chicago 911. Assuming that's long distance so I'll need to dial a 1... Does that mean you have to dial 1-911?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Wow. Who woulda thunk. 6 runs in the top of the 9th. Now that is what I want to see!
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Nice win. And a great day for Hughes.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I like Thielbar too, jb, but do you really think he should be our ASG rep? LOL, no. But he did a fine job mopping up there.
Brandon Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 This game was won by 2 ex Yanks Hughes with 8 IP and 2 earned runs and Nunez with the 2b and 2 RBIs. This game helped Hughes All Star Game Chances. But he has a way to go. Kubel with 4ks in 4 AB should say something to management. He should pass through waivers if the Twins want to option him out to be kind.
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 "Most impressive win of the last 3 1/2 years" Pretty low bar to clear there, Dick.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Assuming that's long distance so I'll need to dial a 1... Does that mean you have to dial 1-911?Good question. I'll call directory assistance to get the number.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Well, keep posting, because if we go more than 2 minutes without hearing from you, I'm calling Chicago 911.Lol. The blue tinge to my face is subsiding and I didn't pass out, so all is good.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Thinking Hughes has to pitch in the ASG.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Let me be the first to say, I was skeptical of Hughes, and couldn't be happier to be wildly, gloriously wrong.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 The rubber band lives another day!
kydoty Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Five of those six runs in the 9th were with two outs. That is so nice to see.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Thinking Hughes has to pitch in the ASG. 3.12 ERA and a 6-1 record for a .500 team certainly puts him in the conversation.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Let me be the first to say, I was skeptical of Hughes, and couldn't be happier to be wildly, gloriously wrong. Can I just be the first to say, that I hope you are as equally skeptical of Meyer and May?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Lol. The blue tinge to my face is subsiding and I didn't pass out, so all is good.I was going to make a tasteless, cruel joke about the blue hair still being there, but I decided not to.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Let me be the first to say, I was skeptical of Hughes, and couldn't be happier to be wildly, gloriously wrong. Me too, chief...and he's an easy guy to cheer for (unlike Nolasco who strikes me as being a little surly)
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Well, keep posting, because if we go more than 2 minutes without hearing from you, I'm calling Chicago 911. 911: Good Afternoon 911... Is this an emergency? Chief: I think so... My friend ChiTown was holding her breath and she stopped posting. 911: Sir... The caller ID says this call is coming from Arizona. Chief: Yes... I live in Arizona. 911: This is Chicago 911 Chief: Yes.. ChiTown lives in ChiTown. 911: you say she was holding her breath... Is she breathing now? Chief: I don't know 911: Look at her chest... Is it rising and falling? Chief: I can't look at her chest. 911: It's ok... Don't be bashful its a medical emergency.
