Deduno seems rattled? Angel Hernandez looks rattled based on his behavior! His gestures to the Twins dugout and to the mound. If Deduno is rattled, it's because of the home plate umpire's behavior.

Hernandez isn't rattled, he's in control, just the way he wants it.

I thought I'd never say it, as I prefer selling high- but if you can't orchestrate a trade for a high-ceiling prospect at SS or SP- if you could get him next year at the same price, perhaps they should consider an extension? Even when he inevitably returns to his career norm hitting levels, there's no indication that he can't make a perfect backup defense-first catcher to Pinto.

Nothing deeper or darker, obviously there's some give and take and "expectations" when a large broadcasting contract is awarded. Name one significant business or organization that doesn't have controlling "the message" as a top priority. This is far from the first time, and it won't be the last time, that "the message" is posted in a press release or stated by the front office, and then uncritically repeated or rehashed on the air, practically verbatim.

Well, we know how "a couple second tier bullpen guys" from the Orioles works out for the Twins...

 

I'm plenty tired of second-tier anything. And two of them doesn't double the value - well 2x0=0. I would like to see us on the "one" end of a two-for-one trade. Liriano, Morneau, someone else I'm forgetting* at the moment...

 

How about Suzuki plus one of our out-of-options scrubs for a genuine prospect, for once?

 

*No, not Revere - IMO that was an attempt at two major league contributors, only hindsight will change that
