zchrz Provisional Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I have been watching the game, but not checking out TD. Any comment on Diaz as the home plate ump? To me, he has been as good any anybody calling balls and strikes. Good zone, good consistency. Calling a bit of a low zone, but very consistent which is always nice to see.
Sleestax Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 What are our options at ss? Bremer just mentioned a guy we just picked up recently but he was playing OF today in Rochester...missed his name...anyway who can plug into short? Dozier eventually going back since we have a 2nd baseman now under suspension..?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 So does Nunez make the play Florimon just did? There will be some plays that Florimon makes that Nunez has no shot at.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Lets See... A Florimon Rock Song. I gotta go with the Traveling Wiburys Well it's all right... everyday is Judgment Day Maybe somewhere down the road aways (End of the Line)You'll think of me, wonder where I am these days (End of the Line)Maybe somewhere down the road when somebody plays (End of the Line)Purple haze Well it's all right, even when push comes to shoveWell it's all right, if you got someone to loveWell it's all right, everything'll work out fineWell it's all right, we're going to the end of the line Don't have to be ashamed of the car I drive (End of the Line)I'm glad to be here, happy to be alive (End of the Line)It don't matter if you're by my side (End of the Line)I'm satisfied Was this before he became a Jersey Girl?
Sleestax Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Do you mean the routine grounder to end the inning?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Have we ever seen Hicks bat rightie against a RHP?Yes, vs. a knuckleballer.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Do you mean the routine grounder to end the inning? No, that would be the one to ask if Santana makes...
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Have we ever seen Hicks bat rightie against a RHP?Yes, vs. knuckleball. Single and a walk in 3 PA's. Plus the universe didn't implode as predicted elsewhere.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 So does Nunez make the play Florimon just did?My guess would be yes. That wasn't all that tough.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Yes, vs. a knuckleballer. Just demonstrates so much!

Dozier eventually going back since we have a 2nd baseman now under suspension..? 1. Eduardo Nunez was acquired from the Yankees last week and is in Rochester training for a utility role. 2. Eduardo Escobar is also a SS option but the Twins don't seem overly high on him. 3. A Kid named Santana is also playing SS in a Rochester but he hasn't knocked down the door. 4. Dozier is going nowhere. 5. Eddie Rosario is the highly rated 2B prospect currently under suspension. Eddie will have to play his way on to the team. Dozier won't go down easy.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Scoreless into the 7th. I know that's what I expected when I saw "Vargas vs Correia."
Gibby Provisional Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I hope Dozier is on this team for a long time. It would also be cool to see some personality, and maybe some aggressive play. This team is dry.

Speaking of the universes not imploding, what's happened to rabble-rouser Powers and his many minions who just a couple days go were ready to breach the barricades armed with pitchforks over the state of Twins starting pitching?
Reider Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 It's bittersweet being a Florimon fan right now. He looks outstanding defensively, but terrible offensively. Obviously, he's had some quality at bats (fouling pitches off, making pitchers throw lots of pitches, taking the odd walk etc.) and is putting the bat on the ball, but he's just not missing gloves with the ball.

SS Polanco has the highest wOBA in the Florida State League....and a heckuva athlete....
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 OMG... Every Tom Petty song applies to Florimon.Maybe one or two others, but let's not get carried away. "Breakdown""Refugee""Don't do me like that""Even the Losers" (get lucky sometimes)"The Waiting" for him not to suck (is the hardest part)"You Got Lucky" on that seeing eye dribbler"Don't Come Around Here No More" if you can't hit your weight"[Pedro] Won't Back Down""Learning to Fly" (and I ain't got wings)"Runnin' Down a Dream" of batting .100"Free Fallin'" toward batting .050 Ok, you win, that's pretty much all of them.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Ho-hum, another quality start. Somehow, I don't think KC will continue to struggle like this all year, or even for another week.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 the tears cloud lingering over dinkytown will keep that at bay. fify
Gibby Provisional Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I cannot for the life of me figure out how a Dominican could struggle in North America in April.
