The need for a new manager has never been about on-field decisions for me.

It's about needing a fresh breeze blowing through that clubhouse. (in much the same way that I can' stand listening to Dick-Bert. Dick, Bert, Gardy -- they are all just so stale.)

I don't disagree--the same evidence, however, could be used to suggest how consistent the culture is, that they do well (battle their tales off etc.) even in Gardy's absence.

Those who are looking for a fundamental shake up in the Twins culture, probably won't ever get it. Even if Gardy retires, much of the old regime, and the Twins way, will remain.

So you're saying Anderson gets credit? ;)

I think he'll be happy to take the kudos for yesterday and today (so far).

This. Saying we need a new manager and everything will be fresh is just so cliche and an easy go to. If you want change, it needs to be a change of the organizational culture, starting at the top. Also, who you go out and get and put on the field makes a huge difference, too.

Do you have MLB.tv?

Please listen to Cards broadcasts, Bucs, Barves... horrible.

Cards should have the best, yet they get the dreck. Shop around MLB a bit, and I think you'll appreciate Dick and Bert a bit more.

I don't have mlb tv.

But I live in Iowa and get the broadcasts for the Cubs, White Sox, Royals, Twins, Brewers and Cardinals (plus others from time to time on MLB TV).

Bremer simply talks far too much. But most of all, we've seen and heard Dick-Bert for so d*mn many years, there just isn't anything new any more.

I LOVED the Provus-Gladden broadcasts in ST but synching the TV and radio is difficult.

I've had to listen to Hawk for as long as I've lived in Chicago. Simply ugh. I'd rather have Bert. Guess it all boils down to personal taste.

I believe you meant "Jakey"?

Oh, crap, you're right! Forgot to Gargy-ize it.

OTOH, if Jake is manning the ship, there will be no place for humor.

Levity? That's a paddlin'.

Well, I've been on record as wanting an organizational shake-up, too.

But since that isn't going to happen, I'll be happy to start with a new manager and pitching coach.

And, as I've made clear repeatedly, it isn't that I think Gardenhire couldn't be a good manager elsewhere.

He has simply "stayed too long at the fair" in Minnesota.

But I really don't want to be such a downer when the Twins are actually winning -- and beating James Shields handily (so far).

We'll all see what happens the rest of the season.

As good a story teller as Gardy is, he'll never be a Darkstar, Garrison Keeler or F Scott Fitzgerald where it comes to battling their tales off.

Hawk.. my heart goes out to you.

Tip: watch on TV, turn the sound off, follow online, and tune to 'BEZ instead.

Yeah, that's what I do, pretty much. Some days he's okay, and the melt downs can be entertaining, but over all? Meh. Not my cup o' tea.

I am in the Chicago market and I watch the Twins/Sox with the sound off. Then if the Sox have an error or give up a homer, I rewind the DVR and listen to the sound on so I can hear Hawk moan. When Thome won that game a couple of years ago for us, I must have listened to Hawk say "Dadgummit" 5 times.

Really, really nice fielding plays from Florimon and Dozier in this inning!

I'm in Hong Kong right now, TV feed from MLB.tv is always dropping out, so I've got Dazzle and Provus on instead. I think Jon Miller w/SF and Scully w/LA are the best going. Not sure how MLV.tv works for those in Iowa (know you're in a hole w/TV) but, if you get it, one of the best things is that you can listen to both feeds for any game. Love listening to how the other side sizes up the Twins...
