There's a lot of discussion around Willi Castro and whether the Twins will pay up an estimated $6.2M via arbitration to keep him around next year. People are coming down on both sides, and really anyone could be right. I see 3 scenarios where the Castro decision shows which way the team will decide to construct next year's roster. Take a break from the Dodgers crushing the Yankees (we'll see how that statement ages), and take a walk with me...
Scenario 1 - Joe Pohlad finds his wallet

By now I'd imagine all of you know who David Festa is, top pitching prospect last year who got called up mid-season to fill the void Chris Paddack left after having yet another season ending injury. His results were middling and some of his underlying metrics don't impress but I'm here to convince you to buy in on a breakout next year (hence the article's name) so let's get right into it! Starting off, Festa's whopping 31.7% chase rate, 28.2% whiff rate and 27.8 K% all are well above league aver
Of course this is completely made up wild speculation, but how cool woudl this scenario be??
Arod and Lore are in squabbles about the Wolves ownership..
Mark Cuban has gone on record stating he would become an owner of a new team if Shaq was involved. And Derek Jeter has always had aspirations of ownership.
How about this for a dual ownerhsip group.
Arod, Jeter, Cuban, and Shaq, form a singular entity and buy BOTH the Twins AND the Wolves!! and just for local interes
Where's the game thread for our AFL team today? Guess I have to start my own.
J/K. Here's a photo though.
That's Kala'i Rosario in RF in case you can't tell. 😊 Had a good time watching a bad, sloppy game last night, with USAF Chief.
/ edit - and that's Rosario with a HR swing in the 5th in the cover photo
The Minnesota Twins Might Be getting a new television deal. But their radio station is staying the same. This morning the Minnesota Twins agreed to a extension with The radio broadcast company Audacy. The deal includes being able to broadcast twins games on WWCO for Minnesota And Their Neighboring states for their fans. Also anyone with the Audacy Apps. It also includes rights for the postseason. But despite this the Television rights remain a mystery what do you guys think of this?
I've followed the Twins for as long as I can remember. I am not going to pretend I've seen it all, but that makes the following statement come with deep thought and reflections before saying it aloud:
I have never been more angry at the end of a season and feel as disconnected from the baseball team I love and support as I do at this particular moment.
Just 52 short weeks ago, the Twins did something they had not done in nearly two decades. They won a playoff game.
In fact, they w

How a bout a quick game of Rock Paper Scissors. But this time in the form of Players, Coaches, Front Office.
With an historic collapse liek the Twins had there is never just 1 reason for it. There are always multiple reasons. So how about a game of PCF?
Where would apply the primary Failures?
Not I am not including injuries in the game because a 4th option just does not fit the game. Plus depending on the injury it could fall into any of the current 3.

The twins are about 1 more loss and 1 more tigers or Royals win from being eliminated. Rocco balldeli says he will do anything for the twins to make the playoffs. But some people have given up. Even Guys like Carlos Correa and Royce Lewis are not very happy. “To rely on all of us young guys who have not done that and expect us to perform at a high level when our bodies are trying to figure this thing out as we go, I think that is definitely challenging. I think [Correa] hit it on the mark. In te

Also the twins have been very stressed recently especially in the Clubhouse. I ran across an article, in a completely non-sports context (ethical choices), that fairly well sums up my view on using analytics wisely.
Have a read, see what you think. I'm not going to short-circuit discussion by providing a summary; if no discussion occurs, so be it.

In a crucial late-season stretch, the Minnesota Twins faced a challenging setback as they dropped two consecutive games to the Boston Red Sox, a team that is hovering right at the .500 mark. These losses are particularly surprising given the Twins' strong performance against teams at or below .500 this season.
The Twins entered the series with high hopes, aiming to solidify their position as they head into the playoff push with just a week left in the regular season. However, aft
Are you still anguishing over last year's comments about not spending any money? Are you still bothered by our trade to get Trevor Richards?
Does having our ace blow up in Boston bother you? Does every victory seem like the time we're going to turn it around? Does every loss feel like the end of the world?
Are you still wondering why Cleveland is winning games where their hits don't add up to the exit velocity of one of our best outs?
Are you still rooting for Rocco as he tries
Looking at his numbers you can see that his ERA is higher then in years past. Why is that and what has changed? Looking at his traditional stat line you notice that he has given up more hits and twice as many walks compared to the last several years. His strike out rate is the same. And his homeruns per 9 innings is in line with his career average.
Let’s dive deeper and look at more numbers. He is giving up contact at similar rates. His LD% is actually a full 1% lower than his caree
Detroit Tigers in a fierce battle for a playoff spot. As the regular season winds down, the pressure is mounting. Despite flashes of brilliance this season, injuries and late-game collapses have plagued the Twins, raising doubts about their postseason hopes.
With just a handful of games left, every match is crucial. Veterans like Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton must step up to guide younger players through this challenging stretch. The psychological impact of recent losses could weigh heavil
As we all know, the Minnesota Twins have struggled to find their rhythm recently, posting a disappointing 8-12 record over their last 20 games. This slump has raised serious concerns among fans and analysts alike, especially as the team's playoff hopes begin to dwindle. The Twins currently sit just half a game ahead of the Detroit Tigers, who are in hot pursuit for the third Wild Card spot.
With the season winding down, every game becomes critical. The pressure is mounting, and the Twins mu
This offseason, the Minnesota Twins face critical needs in both pitching and first base depth. To address these gaps, the Twins should consider pursuing two key acquisitions: first, signing veteran pitcher Jack Flaherty, who, despite recent injury concerns, has the potential to provide significant upside and bolster the rotation. His addition would bring experienced arm strength and depth to a staff that has struggled with consistency. Coupled with Flaherty, the Twins should target outfielder An
When the Twins re-signed Carlos Correa in 2023, he was competing in the free agent market with three other marquee shortstops: Trea Turner, Xander Bogaerts, and Dansby Swanson (in that approximate order of hype). It's now been almost two full seasons, and it's natural to wonder how Correa has stacked up against those three peers. The results aren't looking spectacular for the Twins front office.
We can use wins above replacement (WAR)--specifically, the Fangraphs variety, abbreviated as fWA
Just finished this book. It’s a pretty good deep dive into the history of the franchise from the time they moved to Minnesota to now. The only complaints I have about the book is there were some factual errors, typos the editor didn’t catch and information that was repeated that I feel may have been to make the book longer than it needed to be. The recent series against their opponents, the Minnesota Twins, was marked by a challenging time in generating runs. Over the course of three games, the team only managed to score a total of 2 runs, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among both the team members and Manager Rocco Baldelli. The lackluster offensive performance left many fans and analysts questioning the team's capabilities and strategies. Following the series, Manager Rocco Baldelli issued a succinct statement conveying his dis
The Saints were down 5-1 in the 7th inning. Culpepper hit a 3-run HR (his 8th HR of the season). In the 9th inning, down one run with 2 outs and 2 strikes, KC singled in the game-tying run.
I am not a follower of Donald Trump. I have participated in several no kings rallies and am disgusted with what he and his followers have done to our country and the world. I would like to know what most Brazilians feel about the United States now and about the folks our citizens have elected to represent us.
