Newly available players I’m interested for Twins.

Twins Video

Here are some newly available players who would be low cost and could help the Twins.

Recently non-tendered or released players I’d be interested in for the Twins: Austin Hays (previous 22 HR season), Ramon Laureano (hit .296 w > .500 SLG for Braves), Cal Quantrill and Cody Morris, who I saw pitch a dominant gem at Cleveland in person against the Twins and have never forgotten it!

That being said, my nice tidy 129.xx million dollar blueprint for the Twins brings in Jurickson Profar at 3/45MM and Jesse Winker. I still think Laureano would be a cheap and good signing and Hays too. Twins have learned you can never have too much depth and the OF still has a lot of ???.

Of course if Falvey wants to sign Teoscar Hernandez to a 3/71 contract as a Fangraphs writer floated and multiple articles were written about, I won’t complain!

I'd like Santander more than Teoscar due to the fact Santander is a switch hitter, which would balance out our lineup a bit. Even if both Larnach and Wallner are in the OF, Santander could be a great DH for us. Of course all this is pointless as we know the Twins are not signing any free agents of any consequence this year.

Management seems to be under the impression that keeping payroll relatively low will make the team easier to sell. But finishing fourth again (which, barring surprises, seems likely) makes low attendance and revenue probable, driving the price down. Wouldn't you rather sell a winning outfit? This team, even with a bunch of bargain-basement signings, is a team without real stars. No fan says, "I can't wait to see Ramon Laureano play!"

Correa and Buxton are both real stars………when healthy. But you are right about Laureano.

Blake Snell would be awesome on the Twins pitching rotation.

Dodgers are reportedly signing him for 5 years, $182 million. Yeah, the Twins had a real shot at that one...

The first moment that I saw Hays name, I immediately thought he would be a nice pickup for the Twins. While he is RH, his splits are pretty even, with a slight advantage in home run power hitting against RH pitching.  He primarily plays left field, but has experience in both CF and RF.  He's 29 and 2024 was his worst season by far. I could see worst options.

I'm pretty sure Hays gets $5 million or more. Does that eliminate the Twins as an option?
