  1. I would say when Gray is really locked in he has that command, maybe just not as often or maybe sustained through an outing.
  2. Likely story, ha
  3. I think there is some truth to this. He has had some hits in big spots where he just got the bat on the ball. Hope that shite is contagious.
  4. That doesn't make any sense, aren't results what a results based business is all about? Sounds more like an emotional response. If they did win the division, break the streak and win a playoff series they will have turned this thing around and wouldn't resemble this mess we are subjected to right now. You would be surrounded by very happy Twins fans. And who is we? The opinions on this board are so varied it's clear to me two different people can see completely different things while watching the same event. However one thing we can all agree with is they are unwatchable right now.
  5. They had those rectangle pies in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, I liked em, lots of good Italian food in the NE
  6. Yep, that's cynical and pretty funny too, lol. What's the significance of the Z?
  7. If we don't see some major in-season adjustments and turn this hard to watch thing around I'm finally ready for a change with this staff, including Falvey, Levine and Baldelli. For one they just have to win this division. If they do and then got swept out extending the embarrassing streak, they probably still gotta go. It might depend on how that played out, but man the fan base would be in an absolute frenzy. On the one hand these major changes should happen after the season. On the other, with the baseball draft in July, with a #5 pick, if the Twins are totally in the tank then do you want these guys making that pick? Tough situation. I would be in favor of major shakeup moves now including doing something with J Lopez (done), bidding farewell to Mr Popkins, sadly DFAing long time Twins Max Kepler and just over all making quick adjustments to the plan that reflect the importance of each and every game. DO F#&%ING SOMETHING!!
  8. I'm guessing this isn't a joke, but it would make a damn good one 😂 This one is pretty good too 🤣
  9. Have to say this optimistic fan is being ground to a pulp
  10. This team needs a shakeup, BB moved down the order etc, beating a dead horse but I'm just not seeing it. Well I'll be watching Pablo anyway and hope he can stay away from the stray bad inning.
  11. https://www.postbulletin.com/news/hunter-morneau-nearly-came-to-blows Here is an article I found. It's sounds from this report that Morneau got angry first. What I remember from back then is Morneau was partying a lot and not taking his career seriously enough which Torii didn't appreciate. Morneau had said as much.
  12. Sonny Gray has averaged around 5.5 innings a start since 2017. Before then, early in his career it was more like 6.5. This change happened as he aged and was well before his arrival with the Twins. On the other hand this year the Twins starters have been among the league leaders in innings per start. I don't see how anyone can think this idea that Gray can have a valid beef with the Twins holds any water.
  13. I didn't get to watch much except I did see the almost rally in the eighth. How did Jordy Blaze look?
  14. Say it isn't so Peter, you have posted with the most unbridled optimism, don't give in! Go Twins!
  15. Did you like when Lopez punched the Gatorade cooler? There is a fine line there too I guess. Baseball isn't like football where getting revved up with emotion can carry you through sometimes. It's more like golf, calm focus. Especially for the batter and pitcher. Maybe you could try what I do many times. I don't like commercials and don't always set my schedule to the game time, so I watch almost all the games on at least some DVR delay. Many times I don't know the outcome but when they aren't playing well I'll peek to see if it's worth watching. Yesterday I watched the Twins bat in the 5th (the only inning they scored) and watched every inning we pitched. Watching the pitchers is my favorite part even the best batters are failing most of the time. Am I weird? Lol It took me an hour to watch the game, another factor.
  16. The owner, the President of Baseball Ops, the GM, the manager and the I would guess vast majority of players wanted Carlos back. They all thought he would help give them all what they want, wins. But if you are not enjoying having Carlos on the team and want to blame someone for it your going to have to pass over Rocco here. Falvey is your target, he had the most to do with this signing, then maybe Joe Pohlad, then Levine, then maybe Buxton. If you are still going strong it would then be the time to fire away at Rocco.
  17. No, the most logical assumption is that those speculating that Ron's son will be managing the Twins this season are just wasting their time. Rocco is not getting fired during this season. It's not happening.
  18. I will go on record stating I would rather go to sleep quietly while freezing to death than being eaten alive, just sayin.
