  1. Question away, but comparing Falvine to previous regimes (Ryan/Smith?)? You lose me there. Completely different experience.
  2. You're on I'll put it in my calendar! PM on October 3rd.
  3. The rich just keep getting richer, smh. It ain't easy being green?
  4. Good thing Maeda probably supplements his income with his fame in Japan because he sure is getting ripped off over here.
  5. Mr Lease again sums it up for me. I definitely want a flyer on another starter to avoid relying on Thorpe or Smeltzer hopefully getting us to mid season where a young guy like Duran could fill in if necessary. Bank on the Dirty Sox and LaRussa? I'll take that bet!
  6. What did Gardy have against Hardy anyhow?
  7. We have plenty of outfield depth let's keep these guys in the infield where they belong.
  8. Thankfully the Twins aren't counting on their #4 starter for the playoffs, more of a depth piece for the marathon regular season.
  9. Ha ha! True but I got the tv free as it was rejected by the avid indoorsmen who inhabit my basement (they got new TV's). It's not really the money is is the whole business model where customer loyalty is rewarded with jacking up the rates. It creates animus,I mean who likes their cable or satellite company? And $175 is just plain wrong especially considering all the commercials you are expected to sit through.
  10. Very timely I appreciate this. We are getting rid of our satellite deal this month, $175 seems ridiculous. Thanks for pointing out the fine print I missed when looking at the AT&T deal. Figures. I'm assuming I'm blacked out for MLB TV up here in Duluth. That is the part that doesn't make sense to me. I would gladly pay for it even more than it is but hey the whole thing is frustrating. I recently hung a big TV in the garage...gah!!
  11. With 30 teams top 30 equals #1 starter. There are only a half dozen Aces® at any time. Twins fans get caught up in the fact the Berrios hasn't made the leap to ace, which I think clouds their ability to see that he already is elite. Maeda, Berrios? You could argue that we already have 2 #1's. Add in Pineda and (I hope) Odo? Nothing to see here time to worry about the lineup.
  12. I think we need to pump the brakes on Kirilloff's and Larnach's perceived lack of defensive ability. Maybe we should watch them play a little. Kirlloff seems as cool as a cucumber and looked great sliding for the catch in a playoff elimination call-up. Larnach is 6'5" with a slightly thicker build than Kepler. He might surprise with his athleticism. I'm excited to watch.
  13. Chinese food is pretty good but maybe not in my top five. I like to listen to Aaron talk but I don't want to be him. Young and upwardly mobile? Phew! I guess he's not talking about me!
  14. I'm going with a like for the Wes Johnson comment but I like this move. We need some of this type of moves and it makes sense that this type happens earlier but yes I'm waiting for the bigger BP piece.
  15. Not sure I see how a guy with problem ankles is going to heal them by playing 2nd instead of SS. The point guard has problem ankles we are going to have to move him to wing! Huh?
  16. I'm thinking Celestino could outplay Cave and Wade this year when considering defensive value, plus he's a righty bat. I wouldn't be surprised if 2 years from now Buxton walks and Gilberto is roaming center. This guy has a real chance to be a player, but even in this scenario as DG said we still need to augment the position. Maciel could be a fourth in the future.
  17. Sign Mr Hand for up to 2 years, yes. Hell I'd even order him a pizza. The closer part though, c'mon now I thought Baldelli got that closer glitch out of his system last year and we were going with matchups.
  18. Whoa big fella! I thought this was a serious discussion.
  19. Yep and if Garver bounces back then you can trade him for more value than now I would think.
  20. I could see Lewis at third if ss doesn't work out and Celestino in cf. Sign a ss this year and Polanco can be the infield utility guy. If Donaldson goes down for a long period of time take Lewis' defense at third and let the bat develope. When Buxton won't sign an extension you've got Celestino roaming in center, this is a guy that's got a chance.
  21. Sorry but that's a stretch. It is a good point and resonates with me on a dispassionate level. The NBA is irritating on many levels, maybe the antithesis of MLB. Edit: Upon further reflection I still stand by my reaction to the dog whistle comment as it is perfectly reasonable to be irritated that a man can wave an assault rifle at an innocent family for being on his property when in fact they were on public property while negotiating a contact for a high level, very public position with a large corporation and not have his behavior affect said negotiations. That said it is true that it is apples to oranges. On the one hand you have a first round pick and on the other a fringe player.
  22. You gotta keep either Rosario or Cruz. If not then you must sign someone like Brantley. Yes the youngsters need their chance but we need depth. Non tendering Rosie on a personal level would be tough and I wonder how that plays in the clubhouse. Signing and trading Rosie at some point would be great but I don't know how your going to keep him and Cruz because we are short a starter.
  23. If you consider these 3 PROSPECT bats as ready (including Rooker),I still think you have to keep one of Rosario or Cruz. 1 or more of the prospects may struggle and we need the depth. I would prefer Cruz with the superior, RIGHTY bat. Cruz also gets the nod on mature leadership.
