  1. Hey... save some of his money for me to bet him too!!!!
  2. No overt clarity will come until after they have had as much time as possible to sell season tickets to those still living in fantasy land. But, their intentions are already obvious based on their actions already for those not in denial...
  3. I mean... we can be happy for him personally and question the overall strategic logic of keeping him...
  4. I guess you and I have different evaluations of Eales long term prospects and what 1.8 million means to an MLB franchise even as low as the Twins.... which is ok!
  5. Trading Eales and paying 1.8mil is the equivalent of just picking which back up you want for an absolutely forgettable price.....there is absolutely nothing here revealing of long-term plans
  6. I just threw up in my mouth a little with that line up.... and Lopez is gone with a 50/50 on Ryan
  7. Unfortunately nobody is looking for Ober for the same correct reasons that you want to get rid of him
  8. "and limit the team’s ability to pursue meaningful free agents." They were never going to pursue meaningful free agents... but good excuse though! The owners will not care if the market is depressed for Lopez.... they want to dump salary!
  9. The white flag is already flying and those who do not see it remain in somewhere between the denial and bargaining phase of grief. Lopez was as good as gone after the trade deadline sell off.... it has been a matter of where, when, and for what since then. He makes absolutely no sense on this team given their chosen course. Ryan is the wild card.... I personally think someone will pony up a 'can't refuse' offer but that is more of a 50/50 proposition.
  10. I've been saying this for months on TD to a chorus of downvotes... nothing shocking about this....entirely predicable.
  11. An article about the 3 hitter which includes the names Outman, Keirsey, Vasquez, Larnach, and Lee in any context shows you just how far away the Twins are from being competitive. If it is not Jenkins in the near future, the Twins are even further away that we think. I'm OK with poor result this year if they LET THE PROSPECTS PLAY! But no retreads, or never-were/will be taking ABs (ahem... Outman)
  12. Naw.... He'll give up on them NLT the trade deadline this year. He'll give them a list of at most 3 teams and quite possibly 1 (Atlanta) and tell them to get it done. We are only about half-way to the inevitable rock bottom though if it makes anyone feel better, we have already achieved terminal velocity on the way down!
  13. I don't... I hold his close relationship with Falvey and the likelihood of him just being a new extension of Falvey against him! It is what it is..... He'll muddle through and collect some checks until Falvey and him are fired circa 2028....
  14. Claiming a utilityman from the Pirates..... The Minnesota Twins... where new depths are achieved every day!
  15. ... and that is EXACTLY what should happen. Twins should be OK with keeping Ryan... he could still be part of the hopeful 2028 success. No need to trade him for anything less than what we want.
  16. Starts with McLean and Tong... if we are trading elite pitching we better get at least 2 good shots at a future elite pitcher in return.
