  1. Here is another analysis. Last year's team minus a bullpen and plus mediocre substitutions at 1b and C = more wins than last year?! Math doesn't work unless 90%+ of the team has career years. Hope is still not a plan.....still....
  2. I kept looking for the disclaimer: "This article was sponsored by the Twins Season Ticket Sales Committee' Are you sure that you did not forget it?
  3. Yes... a matchup machine indeed... designed to matchup with the White Sox at the bottom of the lowly AL Central...
  4. I'm not sure how any of the offseason 'moves' to date have moved the needle one iota for 2026
  5. I think the angst is more that they are wasting time and energy over the bottom of the 40 man roster while the top 24 is a hot mess.
  6. "Small overnight trade: The Boston Red Sox are acquiring catching prospect Nate Baez from the Minnesota Twins for utilityman Tristan Gray, sources tell ESPN." A small overnight trade indeed...
  7. The offense is going to be BRUTAL this year as it stands, barring ~90% career years
  8. "For Gonzalez to have a chance, space will need to be cleared ahead of him." Clear away FO...clear-a-way!
  9. I'm going Bob Allison in LF and Nelson Cruz at DH (sorry.... too big of a stretch for Hrbek at DH)
  10. Yes and yes... The offseason strategy summarized: Retain Lopez, Ryan, Buxton over the Winter and sprinkle a little 'we care' presser by yet another Pohlad on top and pray for a few more ignoramuses to buy season tickets. Fire sale #2 at trade deadline (less likely but possible around spring training) heading into the strike.
  11. If 'profile fits the team needs' means a slightly better chance of winning 66 games than 65, then sure.... super....ummm... 'valuable'
  12. "He has some speed. He's stolen 16 bases, but he's been caught 15 times. " This made me laugh the hardest... the average caught stealing rate is ~30%..... so tell me he should not be getting many green lights without telling me.
  13. "He got time with the Cubs, the Orioles, and then the Atlanta Braves. Prior to 2025, he spent three seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays, and he played in 102 games for the Miami Marlins in 2024. " "the Minnesota Twins announced that they claimed utilityman Vidal Brujan" (Checks Card...)
  14. Good Lord... Pay the man the exta 500,000... He has and will certainly earn it. Pohlad's doing Pohlad things...
  15. Let's keep this simple: The Twins HAD the core of Ryan, Buxton, and Lopez in 2024-5 and were awful anyway. Transitioning from 2025 to 2026, we've added (checks notes)... nothing of significant value! But wait, there is more! The Twins now have a gaping hole in the bullpen that will be filled by bargain bin pick ups and former AAA starters! There is hope there but.... hope is of course not a plan. I just do not see how this is a winning team short of 90% of the players having career years. You can hope for that but.... well... you know....
  16. Great series Nick... 3 bonus questions for you (and the class): Which player would you pick as 1. The biggest riser (in ranking) within this group of 20 next year 2. The biggest regression (in ranking) within this group of 20 next year 3. The player not in this Top 20 most likely to rank the highest on this list next year.
  17. Bullish on Tait, Wallner, Zebby Doubtful of ever seeing a sustained period of Royce F-ing Lewis again (due to injury or otherwise) Festa should have been in the bullpen since over a year ago. I think he can be dominant in the bullpen BUT I also think that his shoulder issue will be a chronic hindrance and prevent him from sustained success there either.
