    I think he has too much swing and miss in zone that MLB pitchers will expose and pray upon. That being said, the Twins need to make sure of what they have before losing him for nothing. It was actually more important to give ERod and extended look than Jenkins, Gonzolez, Ross. To be clear, we should be giving them a look too, but ERod was more important because he is out of options next year If he is not part of their plans, shame on them for not trading him for something this year.

    We are in range for 4th place in the draft lottery if we can get below Detroit as well as firmly get below the batch of teams that currently have about the same record (S.F is not eligible). Our goal at this time should be a top 5 draft pick next year (if lucky, top three).... Maybe we can continue our streak of getting within the top apron of elite draft picks. As such, we should be playing all the players under 25 the rest of the way for experience and to improve our chances of adding another future star to join them. LFG!!!!!!

    To be fair.... the ownership, FO and a good chunk of people on TD have all had the same cognitive dissonance (ducking for cover....)

    This... FO malpractice for not trading Jeffers for what would have been much better than a compensatory pick... if that even happens. Look at the return that the other catcher at the deadline brough back (blanking on the name).... Small market teams simply cannot just allow assets to 'expire' without return... but the Twins do!

    "Has it paid off? Not really, the Twins are 23rd in relief pitching ERA since the deadline. But the effort matters." Nope... effort does not inherently matter. There has to be a plan and intent behind the effort. If someone runs a sub 5 minute mile in the wrong direction, it does not help their marathon performance. Buying and not selling at the deadline was misplaced effort. 2026 was never the year. They abruptly half arsed the rebuild that they started. Half arse-ing a rebuild is the worst of all worlds.... Less prospects, worst draft position, less experience for the rising core, less information about the players on the cusp of being lost from the system due to expiring control for a variety of reasons.... all to 'elevate' a roster that was nowhere near playoff competitive. This is not little league. Effort without a plan is not to be lauded or rewarded.

    Keaschall, Culpepper, and Jenkins had a good game.... that's a win in my September book!

    Nick... you are a great writer, but we have different perspectives when assessing 'neutral' .... I think the trade deadline is the best perspective and they most certainly have not been in 'neutral' since then. Too bad the people that are paid lots of money to run the team were not able to see the obvious when they were making decisions at that deadline. Oh well.... I'm still excited to see the next generation getting out of the gates!

    Would be a great local boy made good story if they call up Rozek for a cup of coffee at the end of the season ..... make it happen FO!

    Just wanted to add that the south side Chicago comments were made when the original article title had North-Side for those confused this AM :)

    Would have been more fun with a couple additional good prospects and a couple additional losses for a better draft position.... and a better/longer look at the young prospects.... and the not-so-young questionable prospects that we will be losing to MiLB free agency.

    White Sox are South-Side of Chicago.... were the Twins somehow sucking on the North-Side of Chicago as well in absentia? I mean... I wouldn't put it past them, but just curious

    I'll echo the above. His MLB development will not be linear. (Neither will Culpepper's for all of his success out of the gate). Ultimately they will both need to demonstrate the ability to adjust to the pitcher's adjustments just like Keaschall is learning to do. I have confidence that both will do so over time but have no idea what that timetable will be.

    At very least they needed him as an actual CF when it was clear that Buck was hurting. I'm a big fan of Keaschall and hope that he can develop/find a defensive position but he should have NEVER even touched CF for his entire careeer.
