  1. I understand the hesitation on Larnach, but this is a classic 'sell high' situation that they must pull the trigger on....
  2. Good Lord I hope they have at least the modicum of intelligence to realize this... but I wonder....
  3. They are not interested in being extended. They are interested in going to free agency where the Twins will get outbid (by a lot).
  4. You are probably right but uff daa.... if so, what a miss on not getting something for Jeffers before he leaves, selling high on Larnach, and moving Bell for anything (to open up spots for the OF/DH prospects). As always, indecision is indeed a decision. (agreed on the young pitching... count me as someone likely in the minority who is overall happy with last trade deadline sell off)
  5. The Twins ordered an Uber for Wednesday and The Dobnak has picked up the fare!
  6. I am excited about the young core forming for the Twins. I would like to augment it by trading players that will be leaving the team before the Twins become playoff competitive anyway. I would especially NOT like it if we trade away young talent in a foolhardy mission to augment a team that will not be playoff competitive. If perpetual mediocrity or worse is your idea of 'nice things' .... to each their own, I guess
  7. Detroit surging too.... Their win/loss will eventually better approximate their run differential which is much better than ours.
  8. Anyone who takes two wins of the Oakland as a sign that this team is playoff competitive is sadly mistaken. Check out the strength of schedule after the trade deadline....
  9. Such a team would want to have a finished product that could improve their chances for deep playoff run this year and next. They would need to give up pitchers that would debut in the MLB 2027/2028 but not be a more finished product likely until the year after that at least. Ryan during his first season was obviously not Ryan now.... Basic I'm in now versus I'm in a little later exchange...
  10. If we trade Ryan, the package needs to include young talented pitching within 1 year of MLB (2 max).... so out of these I would vote for Seattle
  11. Oh... the regression to the mean is coming for the RISP.... also check out their won/loss versus run differential... Detroit will pass the Twins this week and never look back. Again... Jeffers and Larnach are must trades. I would trade Ryan before the deadline if a strong offer comes in but I'm willing to compromise with the TDers flying high on a strong dose of hopeium that are determined that the Twins will defy all odds ..... and trade him during the off season :)
  12. (Narrator's Voice) The Giants just giggled and hung up the phone in response to the proposal of Lewis for Arraez
  13. The sad thing is that it just doesn't even matter. He is never going to be consistently average much less elite and he also will not bring back anything meaningful in a trade. So... honestly a nothingburger discussion at this point
  14. The swing and miss in zone is the biggest of red flags for me. In the MLB, you will be challenged in zone and will need to be able to hit in zone. I fear Emma is going to be chewed up and spit out in the MLB
  15. (Narrators Voice)... Losing to playoff teams proves that we would not belong there.... winning against crap teams proves nothing
  16. This was never a good team. Regression of the record to properly match the talent level is a blessing in disguise. It prevents any crazy ideas of 'buying' at the deadline. Again, better that the inevitable regression happen NOW and not AFTER retaining players at the deadline that need to be traded and/or.... gulp... trading prospects for rentals.
  17. The biggest surprise for the Twins is how God Awful the AL is this year!
  18. My irrational optimism for Houston is getting hard to control.... he is going to be the Twins star SS for a decade... right....Right?.... RIGHT?!?!?!
