  1. Most teams don’t seem to have these chronic kicking problems. Didn’t Spielman get to hand pick his new special teams coach, holder, long snapper and kicker? I’d say he’s had all winter to figure it out, but it’s been longer than that. Then blow a 5th round pick because it’s panic time three weeks before the first week? I mean I’ll totally give him credit for cutting bait with the new kicker already, even though it will make him look bad, that’s a bold and commendable quality. I just don’t think he’s got a long range vision for this team and I don’t think he’s been a good talent evaluator for quite some time.
  2. Barring a Super Bowl, I’d like to see a new GM next year. This team just seems like they’re winging it. I have a feeling there is no over arching and cohesive game plan. Only worry about a decade long special teams problem midway through training camp then toss a draft pick at a guy you clearly have no clue about? Cut the only developmental QBs and roll with no long term plan for the position? Crush the salary cap for fairly easily replaceable aging defensive players?
  3. I doubt Pineda is up for starting EVERY game.
  4. Why don't they 60-day Nick Gordon to open up a 2nd spot? Add Graterol and Alcala, or O'Rourke if people still like LOOGY's. Which I don't but could be convinced of with an expanded roster.
  5. I think you need to adjust what you expect from bullpens this year, if not going forward. Historically speaking the Twins might have a below average bullpen, but they are still and above average bullpen this year. Take a look around the league, disappointing bullpens are an epidemic and as much as you are disappointed, most other teams' fans are even more so. Well maybe not most teams fans as most teams are already out of the playoff picture and stopped caring about how terrible their team's bullpen is.
  6. With this bullpen, I'd normally still want some strong upgrades. But after what looked to be a bumper crop of free agent relievers nearly all turn to dust league-wide, yeah, I might consider the bullpen build going forward to be an built atypically.
  7. I think Diaz gets a pass on that one, the book on Choo is unless the guy on second uses a cane, you send him.
  8. Yeah, pretty sure Smalley has acknowledged that guys in his era typically were only throwing high 80’s and hardly anyone threw a slider.
  9. I like that they keep letting Thorpe work as as starter when they send him down to Rochester. This year I want to see Graterol in the pen ASAP, but I like Thorpe as a starting option this year should they need that option. I like the idea of Thorpe as the 5th starter more than I do Smeltzer.
  10. 8 hour game for me. Youtube won't stop clocking. You guys are way ahead of me, does Radke look like he's tiring yet?
  11. Youtube streaming seems really bad compared to the Fox Sports Go app. Although everything on my phone seems slow the last couple of days. There's a new building going up across the street and they're at about the 16th floor is that it? Is that how the internet works? Please advise a feeble tech-incompetent dope.
  12. From my view, Aggies and some of that crowd brings out the worst in him. But that's not isolated to Hosken.
  13. I'll probably wait to see the final win totals. The Twins were never going to win 120 games; in my opinion whether you win 95 games or 85 games matters a great deal.
  14. I don't like how things are currently turning out, but honestly, had the Twins run away with the division like they appeared to be doing early in the year, I wouldn't have felt terribly comfortable come the playoffs. I like that they have to face sustained adversity. If they battle through it and come out on top, I'm going to feel better about their chances of winning a playoff series.
  15. Rooker's long absence for his unique injury has me a little worried that he suffered significant damage. Significant or not, the timing is too bad. With Cruz out he would have been a great candidate to get a call up.
  16. I’m actually skeptical this will help Cleveland. I don’t trust pitchers coming back from a prolonged layoff. He’s also 33 and wasn’t pitching well prior to his injury. I’m hoping he stinks again but Cleveland gives him a nice long leash because of his status with the organization.
  17. When that ball took that high bounce I thought Adrianza was going to score standing.
  18. I mean it seems like umps can get away with murder, but making a hitter bat without a bat sounds like it might be against the rules.
  19. Funny how the umpires I remember from 20-30 years ago are the ones who seem to get the most calls wrong.
