  1. Yeah, he was playing on the line, why backhand it instead of getting in front of it? At least knock it down.
  2. Yeah, I can see young QBs struggling with this, but most other QBs Kirk's age just call something at the line of scrimmage. He does exactly what he's told just about every play, which has been really nice more often than not, but it would be better if the team had a take-charge Captain who's willing to ignore the General if his indecisiveness is going to run the troops into slaughter.
  3. Disconnect somewhere. With how long Kirk waits to relay the play to the other players, I assumed it was the HC and OC, but maybe it's HC and QB.
  4. Crazy how the outlook of this team has changed. Can you imagine us back in July looking at the playoff lineup and only second guessing the #9 hitter? Nice recovery Twins.
  5. Yeah, KOC's issues seem to be in-game management, and I have to think that's fixable with experience and repetition. And not to make this into a Cousins thing, but an aggressive and smart QB would have just overridden many of the poor play calls and gone rogue when the coach displayed bad clock management. Adofo-Mensah I'm more concerned with. Those drafts have been awful, the trades have all seemed desperate and without long-term foresight and free agency has basically been nothing.
  6. Yes, there's no way they're coming back from this disastrous start, especially with Jefferson out. They just won 13 games last year, even if some fans want to call for a GM or coach to get replaced, there's zero chance of that happening. Everyone should feel comfortable with their jobs and accept organically being terrible this year; no need to try to spend any kind of equity trying to win six games instead of five.
  7. I see a Cristian Javier who's a barber on Facebook. That's the one I want.
  8. So PFT has listed rumors of the Jets trading Mecole Hardman and the Rams trading Van Jefferson. Anyone else getting a bad feeling that the train wreck Vikings might do something stupid and actually trade for one of them?
  9. I don't think changes will be made, at least not so far as to threaten the non-major market clubs. While collectively, yeah, all the billionaires want to make as much money as they can, and having major-market-only playoffs would create a bigger pool for revenue sharing, more of the billionaires own NON-major market teams. Individually, should these non-major market teams advance, that would be more money for themselves. Even if the incentive for each of these people is solely cold hard cash, it would still be in their best interest to advance as far into the playoffs as they can. The Pohald's will make more money going to the World Series then they would from their cut of the revenue share should the Yankees get there.
  10. I'm not surprised about the Baltimore/Texas matchup. Baltimore always seemed like the kind of young club that was going to get it's lunch taken in the playoffs before learning how to fight back.
  11. Off topic, but both are free agents next year, and I hope that's where the Twins eyes turn. Keep stacking the rotation, that's clearly the path to playoff success.
  12. It would be great if Jefferson were putting a bug into Caleb Williams ear. Do you want to play for the eternal train wreck clubs like the Cardinals or the Bears? Or do you want to be throwing the ball to the best WR in the world. Pull a John Elway or Eli Manning. I say that full well realizing I'd lose my freakin' mind if someone pulled that same move on the Vikings.
  13. Agree, any team would be lucky to have Farmer or Polanco, but the Twins really don't need both. Heck, by May they might need neither. But I think it would be harder to make Polanco a bench player given his history on the team. It would probably be in both his and the team's best interest to move him. And based on what the Twins did with Jorge Lopez, I could see them moving him to a place he'd prefer at the expense of a better return. This is presuming Willie Castro is still an obvious keeper. They've invested the least in him, but he's clearly more versatile, thus a better fit.
  14. Then you'll never be able to extend him. If the Twins, or anybody really, bases life decisions off of one example expecting that to be the norm, they're missing out on 99% of what the world has to offer. And, a 6 year 100M contract is peanuts in today's game. That's like 1/3 of all the players that play for the California teams.
  15. No reason he shouldn't start in Wichita next year. Here's hoping that Jeffers and either Cossetti or Camargo do to Vazquez, what Garver and Jeffers did to Jason Castro.

  17. Just throwing it out there, but this is Louie Varland. Unless you want nightmares, don't look up the other Twins starters outside of Sonny Gray.
  18. Can they at least wrap it in ice while he’s on base?
