  1. I think it's a strong roster to start the year with. We know there are replacements that will be available this year if and when necessary. May will add a couple more pitcher to the pen if all goes well.
  2. I guess i'll need to start reviewing spring training rules to see what else is different from the regular season.
  3. I'd like to see Ober maintain last years performance but up his load to 180 innings. That should get him to #2.
  4. Yes. Check his fielding. The short numbers for his major league career, 122 games at first base 3 errors 996 fielding percentage. Outfield 90 games 2 errors 985 fielding. I could live with to go with his hitting.
  5. I like the concept. I'd like to watch that contest. It would be good to actually see it.
  6. This is not yet the year for Emma and Severino, but probably for Martin and Camargo.
  7. I don't see Kepler back after this year, like most others. If he hits 230 with 22 homers, I think thats the most we should expect.
  8. I think 50-75 games in center, would be good. After last year, I'm not interested in seeing DH in too many games. 2 games a week in the field and 1 game at DH will do. Would be nice if he batted over 250 with a obp of over 300 and less than a 35% strikeout rate.
  9. Like most I see there being a need for a center fielder for 80-100 games this year. So come early May I'm hoping Martin is doing well enough to put in his first big league appearance. I think he could play more games in center the next 5 years than Buxton. Teach him not to run into walls. Camargo will be the third catcher this year, possibly up to 30 games. Hopefully no more. I can see Miranda getting 75-80 games between Dh & firstbase for the team this year. Mostly DH, but add a few games at third. I think Severino gets the least playing time in the majors this year. I think all 4 have long careers in the major. Not many with time for the Twins.
  10. When you go to a game and only 10-12 thousand are showing up to watch a first place team, no matter the paid attendance. Of those in attendance 9000 are in line, always, to buy food and most of the rest are studying their phone, you only have a couple hundred actually watching the game. But if some hits a homer, then everybody stands up and asks what happened, then go back to their food and phones. How many will option to pay for streaming? Maybe more than buy tickets, but I think baseball did this to them selves.
  11. I'm looking forward to seeing the Twins develop as power, not just in the central, but in the Al as a whole. I don't expect them to win the World Series and I won't be disappointed if they don't even get there. They got a lot of young talent that is starting to matriculate and should add some more this year.
  12. It certainly looks like our top 3 minor league teams could have very good rotations. It's especially nice to see the talent at St Paul. The team pitching looks like it could have a continue flow of starters available. Doesn't look like we need to get the last guys available in free agency.
  13. I would love to see him as a regular LF/RF batting seventh and scaring pitchers who face him with anyone on base. There should be enough hitters throughout the lineup to cover him and so we don't go through years with only 1 or 2 hitters in the lineup that pitchers can just pitch around. I hope he shows up this year as a 30 homer guy with 80-100 RBI's.
  14. I think Kirilloff has more impact on the Twins long term plans. A middle of the order bat with very good hitting skills and high expected OPS, the Twins need all they can get. The first half last year hitting on any given game was Julian, Kirilloff and Jeffers, the veterans were not contributing much. I hope Alcala has a good year and strings several years together. He may start at St Paul, but I hope he makes it up soon. Miranda, is probably lowest on the totem pole for this year, but next year Santana and Kepler will probably be gone. If Kepler regresses to his usual hitting level, Miranda may be up sooner.
  15. I see that last man in the pen usually as the "break glass in case of emergency" guy. With Funderburk, Alcala and possibly Canterino available, I see this 3rd inning guy as someone who could really stop an early game blowout.
  16. For 2024 I expect Soto to spend time if not the whole year in the FCL. Maybe sometime at Ft Myers, would be advancement enough. Further than that and I think his prospect status would soar closer to the top of the lists.
  17. I think Alcala will have some good seasons in the major, I hope they are with the Twins. They spent a lot on talent (Pressly) and time waiting for him to make good.
  18. I would take a Lopez #1 and Ober/Ryan as a #2/2 tie. Hopefully by September we have at least 3 pitchers as playoff quality against any team.
  19. If the Twins play as well as projected, I doubt anyone plays over 135 games this year especially their higher priced players. Hopefully they'll be stronger and fresher for the playoffs.
  20. Looks like Wallner struck out at the same rate as Buxton. All the hitting numbers for Wallner were better. As far as the question about adjustments go, I think that is the big question every player has every year.
  21. If DaShawn Keirsey and Austin Martin bust out of the gate this year, I hope they don't spend all year with an ineffective outfielder taking their possible big league development time this year.
  22. Anybody know how Camargo ranks among Triple A catchers on the defensive side?
  23. I have no problem with Dobnaks contract, I just wish he had been able to regain his pre-injury form and hope he still can.
  24. I think that Lewis and Correa will be a very solid and potential all-star left side of the infield for years to come. Add Julian , Lee and Kirilloff to the right side and the infield could be well covered along with Dh for a similar number of years. The outfield could be somewhat in turmoil for the next 3 years, but there are good assets on the way to cover there as well. I don't think moving Lewis around really solves anything long term. Let him get established at third, leave him alone there and find others to cover weak areas in the field and lineup.
  25. Maybe it was a fluke season, but in Miami in 2022 he struck out 97 batters in 67 innings between triple A and the Marlins. For the Marlins he allowed 1 inherited runner to score in 24 innings. Then last year for the Mets his numbers all blew up. Maybe Pablo and the Twins coaches know something that they can get him back to 2022 on.
