  1. I hate ghost runners, but I can at least understand their use after a few extra innings. Having them right away in the 10th seems excessive.
  2. I'm kind of torn on the Ohtani Rule, but it won't be used enough for me to really mind either way. I'm completely against ghost runners. I'd rather a game end in a tie if that's the alternative.
  3. I need a sarcasm font to reply to this...
  4. Good to be talking baseball from Ft Myers! Having been unable to actually catch any visuals, how have Martin and Lewis looked in their limited action this far?
  5. If so, hopefully he missed his foot!
  6. I'm far more worried the pitching situation. DH isn't even in the rearview mirror. There's almost too many options to fill the spot... ...which leads me to my biggest non-pitching concern. How do all of these pieces fit together for a lineup? There's only one DH spot.
  7. You say that with such precision that it's almost like you have a very specific example that you have based it on. Like you've spent years studying it!
  8. Ummm, what?!?!? The options kinda soften my excitement, but I'll take it! Wow!
  9. Well, if this article is any indication, I'm either going to save money on Scotch cause I gave up during Spring Training or spend a lot more on Scotch to tolerate the fact that I didn't give up during Spring Training.
  10. Good to see Lewis get in the lineup today.  Leading off, no less.  That could be interesting.

  11. Right. I was never crazy about Astudillo's defense anywhere, but he could at least play in many places without completely embarrassing himself. And that works fine in a pinch. And yes, I pretty much view Sanchez the same way as you.
  12. And so it begins!  We've got baseball!

  13. This is one of the few things that I liked about having Astudillo on the roster. He did provide flexibility in many ways, which I like.
  14. I'm conflicted about this. Do I want a roster full of catchers or hit first corner types? Decisions, decisions...
  15. I still think that this team will be heavily reliant on how far the younger players coming up will take them. Even moreso now than if you asked me before the lockout.
  16. With Spring Training opening, how many wins do you think the Twins will have this season with the current roster?
  17. Can't say that I saw this one coming. How long until he starts begging for a trade?
  18. This is also a good move. With the plethora of other substandard defensive outfield types in the mix, no reason to add to it with a guy that can at least play adequate infield defense.
  19. Unless these guys are stopgaps for in-house players in the minors, I'm not interested. Even in that scenario, I'm not sure that I'm interested.
  20. Considering that he's a hit first player with no defensive skills moving from an extremely hitter friendly park to a more balanced park, I'm guessing that the odds of a scenery change helping are minimal. Of course, if he's on the roster, I really hope that I'm very wrong.
  21. I wish that I could unread this comment...
  22. A's and Reds jettisoning talent like crazy.
  23. This is the right move. They were given legitimate shots at a rotation spot. Their respective arsenals look more that of a bullpen arm than a starter.
