    I can't stop laughing at the size difference between Puckett and Winfield! Winfield the athlete is insane. Getting drafted by 4 leagues is ridiculous. That will always amaze me no matter how many times I hear it. Who are the others in that group?

    Ah, I missed that! That's actually progress for sure.

    The universal DH was basically a given. Don't recall about the draft lottery, but I suspect these were non-issues for either party. That said, the fact that they can actually get something resolved and move onto other things is good. I'm not sure I'd necessarily call it progress in this case since there wasn't any real contention surrounding these, but I'd rather see this than not. That in and of itself, is positive. TL;DR I agree, but I don't, but I do.

    This has been one of the more frustrating stretches during the lockout. Hard to even find any hope to grab on to.

    Lewis being unable to get on the field is a pretty big deal at this point. It's just setback after setback, kinda crazy circumstances. He's still pretty important to the organization, he needs to get on the field.

    Everyone has their own tastes, preferences and other reasons to live anywhere, so I don't think it has much to do with attractiveness.

    That didn't take long.

    The Central was pretty brutal last season, so it doesn't take much to improve upon. That said, every team but the Twins and Guardians made decent strides last season. Cleveland sort of treaded water and the Twins, well... The fact that KC and Detroit are getting better doesn't help the Twins cause. Chicago should be very good again and Cleveland is still better than the Twins even if they keep treading water.

    And MLB went through the process in the '94 strike and the players side came out pretty strongly that it was a waste of time.

    Apparently the MLBPA has to agree to it as well. Doesn't sound like they will agree.

    When this "The league and MLBPA have begun to meet with greater frequency, which is good I guess..." is the best thing that can be said this close to ST, that's not a good sign. Punxsutawney Phil isn't the only indication that winter is going to be a bit longer this year.

    My comment was said partially tongue in cheek, but true all the same. But you're right, I would expect them to be more active whenever the offseason continues. That said, going after what's left does take some of the excitement away.

    No thanks. If he were a FA I'd definitely take a flier on him, kind of like what they did with Pineda. I'm not trading the prospects TB will demand though.
