  1. Apparently the Dodgers are reviewing Stewart's medicals, and that's the holdup on the official release
  2. "If the Twins are sellers at the 2025 trade deadline, then the front office has failed." It sounds like a paradox, but at this point if they AREN'T sellers at the deadline, then they will have failed dramatically worse.
  3. Sorry if I wasn't more clear, but everything you said was indirectly implied in my comment/frustration.
  4. Not trying to shoot the messenger (and your #2 talking point is very well thought out), but I am so sick about hearing about the cutting of payroll. It's such a ridiculous notion that it should even be a thing.
  5. Honestly can’t tell if sarcasm, but if not, are you really suggesting that they drafted a consensus top 5 pick because of need? (Or lack thereof)
  6. In a year where the Twins luck into the top 5 via the lottery, are they really going to take a player they could have probably gotten at their original draft position? I get all the monetary gymnastics with going under slot at 5 to go over slot at 34 and/or 49 on a player who has fallen, but why take the chance?
  7. I agree the comments had the same tone, but the Twins also gave up a top 100 prospect for Maeda, while they gave up a borderline top-20 Twins prospect (from a position of strength) for Odorizzi. So in that sense let's hope Maeda produces even better than Odorizzi.
  8. Rosenthal now reporting its the Twins comp B pick and not another prospect
  9. Wonder if this gives any indication on Donaldson, one way or another..
  10. Eddie straight up for Alcantara is a long shot. First, Alcantara is under control through 2024, Rosario is through 2021...the Marlins aren't exactly in win-now mode. Even if they were, the Twins would have to add either multiple mid-level prospects or one prospect in the 4-6 range to Rosario to get the Marlins attention
  11. Pillar fits the biggest need in my opinion. As alluded to, he is good Buxton insurance. Also, his career numbers vs LHP make him a nice option for when you want to give Rosario or Kepler a day off (though both did have improved numbers vs LHP last year)
  12. Probably as fearful as the Twins pitcher knowing that two of those three would be behind him in the field.
  13. To further prove your last point: With the new three-batter minimum rule starting in 2020, there may not be LOOGY's on any teams next year. It will be incumbent on all lefty relievers to be able to get right-handed hitters out too.
  14. Rooker is also currently hurt, so he's not an option right now either. If you are saying no to Kirilloff and Larnach, your options are probably de Aza, Barnes, or Wiel...
  15. The Twins made a trade...Marcos Diplan from the Brewers for cash considerations. Feels weird to be on this end of a cash considerations trade
  16. Would it be worth it? Absolutely. Would the Pirates do it? I highly doubt it. In your proposal, you'd likely have to include BOTH Balazovic and Duran. That would be closer to fair value, and a pretty hard pill to swallow.
  17. Seems heavy for the Twins. Just Graterol and Gordon should net you Ray, plus probably Bradley and Chafin (which I would do).
  18. The Twins can never be on the right side of things, the one year it's a sellers market and they are buyers (not that I'm complaining about their success, far from it). But it would be nice to get a Pressly-type for a couple of our prospects in the 15-20 range this year instead of giving up a top 5 prospect for Greg Holland or Mychal Givens...
  19. So you wouldn't trade Gordon, Mejia and Stewart for Bumgarner and Will Smith? I believe I would, and I wouldn't expect to be fired if I did...
  20. Good catch, yes those three are good possibilities. Sounds like the Stillwater duo is set on going to Oregon State. Still holding out hope for Antoine Harris, as he was the most highly ranked HS player the Twins drafted that isn't signed, but that may be a pipe dream.
  21. I wonder who the extra money goes to...I am hoping one of the HS players and not the 11th rounder (as was the rumor I heard somewhere). Julien has stated he is returning to Auburn for his senior season.
