    Wow. The things we forget.
  2. Shaitan
I just tuned in. I have to assume that Nick Swisher spiked Donaldson earlier?

I don't think Eddie is controversial at all. He's just one of the more obvious trade candidates and we, as fans, want to obsess about what-if scenarios and pretend GM scenarios. He's an above average player who hits in the middle of the lineup. We're lucky to have him. Sometimes his weakness is his aggression. Sometimes it's his stength. Hopefully he'll find a way to balance the two as he matures as a hitter, because it will definitely impact his career longevity once he's on the other side of 30.

If they aren't doing a thorough cleaning of the facilities between team visits they aren't doing their job in the first place. Hope everyone who tested positive has a full recovery.

So far it looks like they took last year's team and made it better. Excited.

I was "watching" on Gameday. Was it as overpowering as the 3 pitch K implies?
  7. Shaitan
Exactly. I bet he loves the 30-man roster.

David Hale has a fascinating travel log.
  9. Shaitan
Counterpoint: Cruz has an outstanding season but, with reduced travel, writers on the Coasts forget the Midwest exists.

    6. They definitely didn't go back to classic baseballs. If anything, 2020 is using more of a gopher ball.

Braves seem a bit like the new Pittsburgh (pitching reclamation projects). I'm suspicious if they let him go. But there's also very little to lose with this year's roster setup. Well, except that you can't let your reclamation projects rebuild confidence or refine mechanics in AAA every day. I guess that could be pretty big.

In this metaphor, the raccoon is the White Sox after the Twins finished with them?
  13. Shaitan
I don't think they changed the baseball.
  14. Shaitan
Changing 40-man rules would have a huge impact on contracts (MLB vs MiLB etc). Not against it. But it's a big roadblock. They'll figure it out. They have billions of dollars of legal counsel on retainer.
  15. Shaitan
He's on track to lead the team in SO this year.
  16. Shaitan
Maybe he took defensive lessons from Gold Glove nominee Robbie Grossman in the offseason.

    Bummer

These new 2020-only stats are weird.
  19. Shaitan
    2020: more Sano K's or Kepler HR's?
  20. Shaitan
I see that Sano has only been CS twice in his career. Let's go!
  21. Shaitan
Are the pace-of-play rules still being monitored this year?
  22. Shaitan
Pretty soon I'll get more realistic baseball playing The Show than watching Manfred's product.
  23. Shaitan
While I also don't like the format, this is almost verbatim the argument I heard from the Coasts about the Twins last year in reference to playing the Central (i.e. implying they were really a 27-33 team). I guess this makes it fair to those people?
  24. Shaitan
Sigh. I can't won't even go to the bar to watch anymore.
  25. Shaitan
Maybe time for a 2020 thread. Stephen Gonsalves designated for assignment. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/07/mets-promote-andres-gimenez-designate-stephen-gonzalves.html
