  1. If you're going to say a play is so unique you've never seen it before, it would be nice if you included a link.
  2. This sentence may be the best thing I've read on this site in quite a while: To reverse the scenario, I also think of it every time Buxton is 0-2 and has to chase a borderline pitch, inevitably striking out.
  3. C'mon Kirilloff. Where's my triple?
  4. If I've learned anything from TD so far in 2024, it's that Dick Bremer wasn't the problem.
  5. I'll rephrase it. I expect Ober eat innings as much as I expect Alcala to go a month without hitting the IL.
  6. I get the frustration, but I'm not at all surprised they pulled Ober given his inning situation (and second half performance) last year. It's essentially his first start of the year. Nice job by Okert getting out of the jam eventually.
  7. I think it's more about Castro. He hasn't played like a starting platoon player this year. If Miranda hits, Castro moves to UTIL, which forces Martin to AAA.
  8. I had a friend do this in Madden's draft-your-team mode. It ended as well as you'd expect. Though I think they were Johnsons or Smiths or something.
  9. I'd say that no team is selling in April, ever. But Miami isn't like other organizations.
  10. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't the slider harder on the elbow? If so, I wouldn't expect them to lean into it heavily for a SP after TJ surgery.
  11. Well, it took until page 3 to mention Gallo and I only saw one payroll comment, so I guess we at least have new topics. I have zero concerns about the offense overall at this point. Slumps are gonna happen, but they don't necessarily make a pattern. There are a few players I do have concerns about, but this team has AAA depth to make a swap if needed.
  12. The times they are a-changing. 2/3 of these names still surprise me when I read it in print.
  13. I think his contract actually makes his presence on the 40 irrelevant. He's the perfect candidate to call up for a single game and then waive, as nobody is going to pick him up. They could pass him through waivers all year. (I say this assuming there is always a "flex" spot on the 40 or a 60 day IL candidate, as the team is rarely that stacked.) But as others have said, he has to earn his way back first, and he's probably 3rd on the depth chart, at best. I think if they needed an emergency start and he was rested right now that they'd go with a bullpen game or waiver wire one-time start instead.
  14. I'd be interested to see data on this compared to other organizations. But many injuries are freak incidents. The only way Kepler could have avoided this would be to not swing at a particular pitch.
  15. You're allowed that take. I personally don't think it's fair to make any assumptions after 3 games.
  16. It's weird how many people are blaming the offense for this loss. They gave up 11 runs.
  17. I was estimating. I trust your math. But they basically used the whole bench in game 1.
  18. They only have like 3 position players on the bench, so he'll get his chances. I can't believe they carried this many pitchers at this point in the season. Even knowing how modern MLB works, it feels excessive with all the off days.
  19. I like this lineup better than the opener (except Lewis, of course).
  20. At this point in the season, I think the move is to be as conservative as possible and give him full time to heal. If we were in a playoff race I'd say otherwise... But muscle injuries can resurface so easily if they rush them (I'm comparing this, in a way, to the Vikings giving Jefferson an extra 1-2 weeks last season).
