  1. Come on you guys … quit with the strawman accusations and have a discussion
  2. Maybe you and @ashbury could answer this for me ... if they are measuring roughly the same thing, why are the stats so different? (I know, making it quite a bit off topic, but ... ) Are they using different formulas to measure the same thing?
  3. So, there was something to Julien being pulled during the Saints game yesterday.
  4. Bad play results in bad losses. That’s all that needs to be said.
  5. Everyone was upset when we lost Baddoo, Wells was the one I was disappointed in losing. Totally get the rationale and it is how it is. But yeah, was always a fan of Wells. Glad he’s doing well.
  6. True. But today the beating up started with Stroman, a good starting pitcher
  7. Oh, I don’t know. He’s had a hit in three games in a row now and yesterday he was 2 for 5 with a homerun, a single and 2 rbi. Thursday night his hit was as clutch as it gets and why we won that game. I’m not going to proclaim ‘He’s back’ quite yet, but I do think that looks hopeful. He is above .200 now, which is nothing more than a nit. I hope he, too, continues to hit, but I’m not holding my breath, either. I don’t think anyone is forgetting who Gallo is but he had a good game. Acknowledging that doesn’t mean we think anything more than that. But, omg, that home run was MAMMOTH. It was so mammoth it is worthy of forgetting, just for a minute. Even Wesneski’s (Cubs pitcher) expression tells it all. It broke statcast.
  8. They’d be tied for first in the NL Central and 2nd everywhere else. And every division leader so far would be 3rd in the AL East the East is that good. But like you, I had the same thought … save some runs for today. We’ll see.
  9. It’s not just you. Many on here have commented on it since the FO said they weren’t doing anything in the off season to address it. And we’ll play the AAA merry- go-round, again, this year.
  10. That we agree on. I don’t really care much about football but I consider it a good day when the Packers lose! 🙂
  11. I wouldn't exactly be boasting about that as a Bears fan ... just sayin' ...
  12. Getting Castillo would have cost much, much more … like Lewis and Lee. Would you have made that trade, then, for Castillo?
  13. Yes and no … I’m willing to spend some based on current product. If that product tanks, they still have the money I already spent. I think they know what they spend on will impact what they get. There is and always will be risk on both sides
  14. I don’t see how that has anything to do with it, really. Just suggesting to others who don’t like what’s going on on the field, don’t spend on it. Booing one player doesn’t solve anything. What does that do? Maybe it’s a motivation for Correa, but I still don’t think it does anything but maybe make the booer feel better. And it might be detrimental to a different player. It still won’t give us an unquestionable BP and offense. Team wins start by what ownership spends on and the FO purchases, imo. Players do know what they have to do, but no team is one individual. I liked the Correa signings still do and I bought a Correa jersey to show my appreciation of that, something I’ve never done. But I’m hesitant to invest more into games until I see more over all. But I’ll spend more than last season because the pitching is worthy of my money. But … give me a WS contending team and maybe I’ll buy a season package. Money talks. Booing is wasted energy.
  15. I don’t boo my own because it changes nothing, imo. Just a waste of my energy. But to show my dislike, I don’t pay for it. Money speaks louder than boos. It’s ownership that needs to hear that.
  16. Please don’t use the rumor function for actual news. Just post it. Thanks.
  17. Well, let me know how it goes!
  18. So the catch was seen clearly and not something they ‘ignored’
  19. Who is concluding that? I only skimmed the article so I admit I probably missed that. If that’s the conclusion, I can’t believe that most feel that way. I think Farmer is an upgrade for right now, because Miranda was having way too much trouble there, but in no way is he a long term fix. He’s a temporary fix to give Miranda or Lewis time before one or the other gets back there.
  20. I don’t think they ignored it. Probably couldn’t really see it from where they were. But I do wonder if the call would have been overturned had the Padres called for a replay
  21. That is a LOT of ‘I know what would have happened if’. I don’t know if Correa would have made it to third if had run on contact and neither do you and neither do the guys in the broadcast booth. He is not a fast runner and I think it would have been a close play and maybe an out. We will never know. That said, geez, RUN dammit!
  22. I’ve read stories on this hotel before. Part of me is intrigued, the other part just says, ‘Nope’
  23. Pretty much this. I also think he was partly part-time insurance for Polanco and Kirilloff, too. Now that both of them are up, I think it's just a matter of the next space needed.
