  1. They might, if they have a need for either. I'm suggesting a rebuilding team probably doesn't have room. Trading is about finding another willing team who has a need. To just say ... trade him to Oakland or KC ... that makes zero sense and not really how it works. But this discussion, for now, is moot. Farmer is up, Miranda has been optioned. We will make the next move when we need to.
  2. Oakland and KC are NOT giving up a prospect for those players. That's really not happening. Especially when they are rebuilding. And wow ... giving up on Sands and Wallner? Both could still provide some usefulness. You are quick on the axe, imo. My point was removing Garlick or Rodriguez does nothing to get Lee on the 26-man roster. Farmer is up now and Miranda is down. Maybe it will be Castro for Lewis in a couple of weeks ... would be my guess. Or for Miranda if he suddenly turns it around. But then one of them will come up for someone else ... that's when it will be Solano or Gordon.
  3. I wasn’t suggesting it would be permanent. It’s a reset. ‘His path back’ was referencing when and how he will return. If/when he’s raking they will find a way. Injury, too, is a way. I don’t know the path back, but there will be one when he pushes it.
  4. I’ll grant Garlick or Rodriguez, but I’m not easily removing the others as they will get picked up by another team for nothing. But space still needs to be made on the 26-man, and Gordon and Solano can’t be sent down without being lost. Doing that now is one thing but they will also have to do that again when Lewis comes off the 40-man.
  5. While I hope to see Lee sometime this year, I don’t think he’s the answer for right now. For one, as much promise as he shows, he’s still only had about, what, 400 AB in his entire professional career, and none above AA. That’s a big leap and we’ve seen others make that leap and struggle mightily. Two, he’s not on the 40-man, so who do you remove? Then who do you remove when Lewis is set to come off the 60-day in two weeks? Maybe there are obvious choices to you, but for me, I’m a bit more wary about losing two players so easily. I might easily remove one, but two is more iffy for me at this point in the season and I’d rather reserve that move for Lewis. I think the only solution for Miranda right now, if not injured, is to demote him to AAA when Farmer is reinstated. Farmer can manage 3B starting duties for a couple weeks until Lewis is ready. When Lewis ready, he plugs in there and Farmer goes back to backup/utility for SS, 2B and 3B. At that point I think it’s good-bye to Solano or Gordon, or maybe Castro, to make room on the 40-man. If Miranda does go down and gets himself reset, I’m not sure of his path back up. Whoever isn’t gone of the trio I mentioned above may be the next on the list. But if Miranda gets sent down, I’m inclined to leave him in AAA for a chunk of time,
  6. I was being a little sarcastic
  7. Mod note: Get off the Rosario stuff and stick to the topic. This thread about Kepler has absolutely nothing to do with Rosario. If you want to discuss long ago moves, start your own discussion thread or start a blog.
  8. I don’t know about Lewis in center. I mean, he’s already had an injury out there. It might be too dangerous for him and bad for his knee
  9. Will be interesting to see where they have him play in the next 20 days Edit: just read he’ll be splitting time between 3B and SS
  10. To the Twins by the end of the month
  11. I know you were being sarcastic, but neither Castro nor Miranda need injuries … Solano, however …
  12. I get that and that’s all fine for 2024, but I’m thinking now, 2023, maybe give Gallo and Kepler less playing time now because they aren’t in the plans for 2024? Maybe one of them will be moved at the deadline. But that doesn’t help the situation today. It’s unfortunate for Larnach. He didn’t draw the short straw, he was left with it. But, I think the reset will do him good. But more of this is coming, it’s just a crowded roster, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but is a constant jigsaw puzzle.
  13. I’m wondering if it will be Miranda sent down for Farmer (and think it should be), but, that still doesn’t resolve the Kirilloff and Larnach problem. I wonder if they are trying to work a trade in there somewhere. They will have to do something with Lewis knocking on the door in the not-so-distant future.
  14. Yeah, first of all, the flurry of moves was confusing, And I didn’t even know Thielbar was hurting, so that was a surprise. And Larnach the casualty, which is really too bad. But what was the solution? Maybe not add/bring up Rodriguez and go one pitcher short for a small bit? Send down Castro and use Gordon as the backup SS? Then who gets playing time and who sits? Just rotate Larnach, Kirilloff, Kepler and Gallo? Every 4th game one of them sits? Or keep Kirilloff at AAA until someone gets injured or traded or DFA’d? When Farmer comes up I’m guessing Castro goes down. Maybe we could have sent Castro down now, if they are reasonably sure Farmer is up soon, but we still then would have to make a choice. And we won’t be going short a pitcher for for more than a game or two, so something had to give. So, what is the solution?
  15. Contribute … pop into a game thread … although I warn you, they can easily become cesspools of negativity, but sometimes they are fun
  16. I’d actually rather watch a game in that stupidly named southside stadium … just easier to get to, to maneuver, and no sightline issues
  17. I don’t like the Ricketts, either. Slime.
  18. I was thinking of starting an account on the Cubs board, just to troll and say how awful a stadium Wrigley is … I live in Chicago, so I know
  19. REMINDER: To all, start a new thread or check out corresponding threads already in the forums, if you want to take any of these moves into a more in depth discussion. Some posts will be moved, others removed. This thread needs to stay clear of the chatter in order to follow the actual transactions as they happen. Thank you all.
  20. Henriquez was just sent on a rehab assignment.
  21. That doesn’t mask room on the 40-man, though
  22. Exactly. This. He's really struggling and I don't think he can 'right the ship' on the 26-man. He needs to go back down and find it again. Then come up and blast away.
  23. Well, I don’t think it’s short-sighted at all. I think it’s what Larnach needs unless Larnach starts hitting over the weekend. Again, then we’re waiting for injury to happen and I don’t like that option
  24. I said I know you aren’t advocating that but when your article is talking about finding room for AK, all your examples are of people getting injured. My point is, I think it’s not difficult to find room without anyone injuring themselvrs
