  1. I'm just putting this out here because it needs to be out here ... yay for the pitch clock!
  2. It doesn’t take much thought, honestly. Just IL the guy. For me the frustration isn’t him in the lineup, it’s the decision makers not sending him to the IL. I realize that this is a human being here, and we can’t just call for him to be gone so callously, but, this is a game that you play to win. I was willing to experiment with this for a month or so, but we are past that and can’t afford to have his bat in the lineup as it is. Julien can DH, or any number of players.
  3. That’s where I’d start, actually … still a scapegoat move, but is an easier move to make. And during the off season, go for the higher ups
  4. Well, unfortunately, that’s the more difficult and likely won’t happen. Harder to sell than to fire people
  5. Which happens at the top … been saying this for years. Was saying it during the later Ryan years, too.
  6. Okay, enough of this topic. It’s site policy. Get over it. It’s not a lot to ask. Let’s move on now. Thank you.
  7. Molitor was paid to sit. I think Gary was, too. But you are right, Molitor was on his last year, and I think Gardy was, too. Just saying that they still paid.
  8. Celestino is done with his rehab and was activated and optioned to AAA
  9. I would actually advocate for this. I think both need to be up and playing.
  10. They paid Molitor to sit. And I think Gardy was released before his contract was up? (Not sure on that). So it has been done.
  11. Given the news today, perhaps be a little more sensitive, even in joking, throwing around the word ‘mental’. Just a thought …
  12. I do hope changes are coming before the trade deadline
  13. Probably not. I don’t know. But it’s not the name of the current team and we’ve been asked to not use the old name, for good reasons. Many posters, initially, were digging in wanting to continue using the old name. So, beyond my pay grade, a filter was inserted. You aren’t a jerk for asking. But we do ask you not use the old name or use work arounds to do so. Thanks.
  14. I agree with that. Wish I knew the story and I realize that in the absence of things people think they should be told, they fill the void. But, that’s the thing, we aren’t obligated to be told and just don’t know. Wish I were a fly on the wall, tbh. But then, I wouldn’t share. I’d just taunt you all that I know and I’m not telling 😉
  15. That’s fair. But I just don’t think this is the problem with this team. I don’t think a different manager gets a different result. That’s all. I’m not advocating for either thing to happen, just don’t think it will make that big of a difference.
  16. See, now this is headed in the right direction, imo. Change always begins at the top. And the top would just replace Rocco with another Rocco. It’s not the manager.
  17. That’s right, for good reason. So don’t try to work around that. The owners have made their thoughts absolutely clear on that one.
  18. I don’t disagree that it’s done. I don’t know the research, though, either. But it is still a scapegoat move. Yes, one that’s done, often, in sports. I’m not defending Rocco here. My thoughts on that are well documented. It’s still a scapegoat move, whether it’s good or bad
  19. I was referring to the players Howevever … these threads are not to dump in, either … how many showed up this inning to make a comment about losing and getting rid of Rocco right at that opportune moment? Yeahs that’s a form of trolling, not discussion
  20. Okay, those are two teams … two … does it always happen? I don’t know. Would be something to research. But I still think it’s a scapegoat move.
  21. Yep. This is pretty much my stance. Most of it is on the players to execute.
  22. Oh yeah, the likelihood is what it is. But I wouldn’t have expected it if that lineup either
  23. I honestly have no feelings one way or the other on Rocco. I think I’ve made that clear. Managers are always the easy scapegoat. But I agree that there is something not clicking
