  1. I said none of that. Nor was my comment at all in that vein.
  2. Kepler will be fine in CF for an occasional day, so will Gordon, when Bux needs a day off. If Buxton goes on the IL, Celestino gets called up. I want Celestino playing every day so he's ready to fill in when he's called on to do so.
  3. Concur. However - I will be okay-ish if 3 come north when the roster is at 28; but definitely will not be okay with 3 when the roster is trimmed to 26
  4. Why do we need 3 catchers? My assumption is that Godoy goes to St. Paul and comes up if either Jeffers or Sanchez hit the IL. Are we back to the Gardy days of filling a bench position with an extra catcher?
  5. Yes, he's already passed his medicals and is already in camp
  6. It would probably get abused on here, much like a very small number of people abuse/misuse the reactions for trolling purposes
  7. Small correction ... he's not on the 60-day ... he is expected to start pitching in early May, I think I read ... likely in Wichita. But the rest of your post stands
  8. If I had to guess, I'd say that Celestino will start the year in AAA - and if Buxton goes on the IL (yes, I specifically chose the word 'if' instead of 'when'; hope springs eternal), Celestino will be called up. Celestino could be the call up for anyone in the OF, really. To give Buxton a day off here and there, I think Gordon will be the fill in. Again, just my guess based on everything that's been said in these forums and articles. While Celestino didn't have a stellar time up in the majors last year, he was really up prematurely, imo, having no time in AAA. Toward the last half of the season in AAA, he seemed to really be picking up steam.
  9. I actually had to think about that ... and I'm definitely not young
  10. Yep. Not so concerned with how they do it than who does it
  11. This started my day with a laugh ... lol ... thanks
  12. I mean, we are talking Correa here. I'd be more concerned with Polanco making the adjustments than Correa, quite honestly. But I'm not exactly 'concerned' about either, tbh. There's a reason Correa is the best out there right now.
  13. With expanded rosters through May 3, won't that give them some flexibility? They could take an extra starter north with them and plan a 6-man rotation for the first month, or carry a couple extra BP arms so their starters don't have to go long into games, or do some piggybacking, as was suggested above. I'm not so worried about needing a 5th starter right away as I am with ... who will that be?
  14. Is anyone else just emotionally exhausted after today's news?

I was shocked, amazed, and stunned.  So last night, I stayed up late (East Coast time) checking my phone for last minute news about a huge trade and then got up early to see what surprises awaited me.  Nothing!  Now I'm emotionally spent again but for no reason.

@terrydactyls, I read on twitter that it was Levine's birthday yesterday and he celebrated by going to bed early so that we weren't going to hear any news ... maybe today or tomorrow? :)

  15. I don't see Arraez as our starting 3B ... if he's even still on the team come opening day
  16. I know ... after my initial 'Holy ****!' comment when I first woke up and read the news, the next was to get online and find out when the Twins will be in town to buy tickets ... because, whatever happens ... watching Buxton AND Correa will be good times!
  17. I guess this is a lesson in hope and faith? Maybe? Holy schmoly! I'm looking for tickets for when the Twins come to town! :)

  18. I don't see the A's going for that, but it would be more than shocking to get both Montas and Manaea
  19. We'll have to get you from lurking to posting A good way to jump in is with game threads, once the season starts ... or ... just jump anywhere, when you have something to say!
  20. What I know for sure: 1. We've downgraded 3B 2. We've downgraded C and also have no depth 3. We still don't have a SS 4. We still don't have enough pitching, despite the trade for Gray, and will make that a bad trade if they do nothing else. Until/Unless other moves are made, we traded Garver, Donaldson and Rortvedt for Urshela, Sanchez and Henriquez. That's what I know for certain. As I said in another thread, yes, these moves are likely precursors to other moves, but what if they other moves they want to make don't happen because, you know, the price goes too high for Story or too high for a potential trade with Oakland because now we are in a situation of 'we must have'. I hope that they had some kind of agreement in place with Story before making these moves because, well, now we are in a 'have to do this' mode, and everyone knows it. I mean ... this waiting until it all sorts itself out is excruciating, but what I said above is what we know for sure. Having payroll flexibility doesn't mean we will flex.
  21. They need a lot of things for this to make sense. The team got a LOT worse, offensively and defensively, with these trades.
