I have to give some credit to Molly as his baserunning genius must have quite an influence on his club.

Thanks brother, I scooped up a ticket yesterday and plan to go. I happen to have the day off from work that day so the timing works.
  3. theBOMisthebomb
Right on, there are free tickets available at that link.
  4. theBOMisthebomb
How do you get tickets? I tried the link you gave and it says the event is private and by invite only.
  5. theBOMisthebomb
    Take off, eh. You hoser.

The Twins will keep Joe if he repeats or betters in 2018 what he did in 2017.
  7. theBOMisthebomb
Just the way he always looked so READY TO HIT every time he came to the plate.

The Twins should treat Phil Hughes as a lost cause and expect zero production. When/if Hughes does give the club something it should be construed as nothing but a bonus. As far as May, it would be great to see him get his chance in the starting rotation and the Twins rewarded for their patience.

Move along, folks. Nothing to see here, move along.

Blasphemy! I would be in withdrawal symptoms and detox if I stayed away from TD so long that I forgot my password. Nice to see you back.

What is the future for J.T. Chargois? The high hopes entering 2017 have dimmed to now there is no buzz. I hope he can get back on track in 2018 and contribute in the Twins bullpen.

Agreed. This is one of the reasons why I was against trading Dozier last offseason for a pitching prospect. Dozier is a gamer and a winner and a team leader (who is also a great player) and I want a guy like him on my team as long as possible.

He was successful everywhere he went, pretty much from day one. So, looking back on it maybe his successful career should not even be any bit of a surprise. Interesting he was not drafted after his junior year of college.

The Twins will sign Mauer for 2-3 more years.. because, well, we are Minnesota by the way and that is how we do things. Joe will have a similar year to 2017 in 2018-2020 and be part of a winning club that goes deep into the postseason. I hope he hangs around here long enough to add a Gold Glove to boost his Hall of Fame chances and also to bring a World Series title home.

The Twins will out perform these projections for the most part.

Didn't his assists take a dip the last two years? I thought he was a better outfielder defensively that what you portray, I wonder why the defensive value was -6.2 in 2017? It was 2.2 in 2015 and -1.4 in 2016 - I just don't see how his defense decreased so drastically in 2017. Those numbers don't pass my eyeball test unless his 2015 numbers were increased by the higher number of assists. The traditional stats of errors and fielding percentage are better in 2017 as opposed to 2015. I don't recall his range decreasing in 2017 so I am stumped by the -6.2.

You are spot on that Kepler is on the verge of a breakthrough. The Twins need to take the same approach they took with Buxton in 2017 - play Max every day and let him work it out and get the needed experience - including against left handed pitching.

That sounds like a fun adventure, congratulations. It is awesome that your fiancee is also with the program - that is always best to have the women on board. I have always thought it would be fun to spend a winter in Australia watching their winter baseball. Cheers and God bless!

What does Miguel Sano's resolution look like? I am guessing much different than a week or so back.
  20. theBOMisthebomb
The Twins will make the playoffs.

Warne did address one question that has been rattling around in my brain about this situation - why hasn't there been more talk about getting the police involved? It sounds as if it is out of the statute of limitations. As far as dropping fandom of the Twins because of this.. this is quite an illogical leap from here to there. Unless you stay consistent and boycott all teams that have guys that do terrible things, including corporations and businesses etc.. you would be shopping at very few stores and have very limited entertainment options. Now, if the Twins somehow totally botch the response when that time comes there might be an argument for dropping them. Anyway, if this incident pushes you over the edge I understand that is your right to feel that way. I think you also have to look at response of MLB and the Twins in the upcoming months and go from there.

Extend him so that he can retire as a Twin. That is most likely 4-5 years. He is too valuable and is the cornerstone of the franchise and the leader of the team. The one thing not considered too much here is what are Dozier's feelings on the matter? My gut instinct is that Dozier wants to stay loyal to the Twins and stay with this franchise while at the same time being paid top dollar (well deserved top dollar).

That is a lot of first time pitchers, especially for an 85 win team. My hope is that 2017 was a transition year and the Boy Wonders can stabilize the pitching staff in 2018.

The whole blog within a blog conundrum kept popping into my mind and I think you eloquently stated the issue. I see the benefit to getting more views due to the large numbers here at Twins Daily. However, I don't like being at the mercy of another site and being buried.

If the Twins don't sign Darvish then they need to try to grow the pitching staff organically, as they have with the position players. It has been at least a generation since the Twins have built a home grown pitching staff, now is the time for the Boy Wonders to earn their keep and promote from within. Going into sell mode is frightening for the average Twins fan. The Twins have rarely (if ever) sold valuable assets with an eye to building a team long term or even 'flipping' valuable assets to bolster the chance for a title today. Not to mention, we all have David Ortiz in the back of our minds so trading a player like Sano gives us the cold sweats. My preference is to roll with the talent we have today and add a top notch pitcher and let's see where this new generation of talent will lead us.
