  1. Keep giving him chances for now. He needs to adjust as the league has adjusted to him. Three poor pitches with bad results is significant.
  2. It says a lot that even a Twins sycophant like Bert Blyleven would criticize Joe for his refusal to adjust his game to beat the shift. Decrease Joe's playing time or bench him and plug Vargas at first base full time.
  3. Let's enjoy the ride and the good times.
  4. Time to get your meds adjusted. The Twins are over .500, the sun is shining, and Jesus loves you. The rest is just life happening like it always has.
  5. Go Twins. Remember those Twins - A's rivalries of the late 80s - early 90s? Geez those were fun regular season games.
  6. I would still like to see Park get a sustained shot at becoming an everyday MLB player. There is too much potential there not to roll the dice.
  7. While I agree with you, I feel we need to give Falvey - Levine more time. At least another year or more before the criticism becomes valid. The first six months of their regime has disappointed me though they were dealt a short hand.
  8. The beauty of an MLB season is the 162 games. I want to party like it's 1999 after this 6-3 start... let's remember it is a long season.
  9. Keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel. Go Twins!
  10. From a guy who remembers 1987, enjoy the moment. 5-1 is 5-1.
  11. Bring back the Metrodome is my only thought as I prepare to dodge raindrops at Target Field today. A record of 75-87 is my prediction for 2017.
  12. Hope springs eternal and there is a new season upon us and the Twins are undefeated. While the lack of offseason moves and roster construction by the front office has been baffling, I am willing to be patient for now and give them a chance. With the young talent the Twins (hopefully) have the future feels bright for the first time in a long time.
  13. Good point. I thought the Twins were going to sit ol' Joe a few times a week to get his games played down to about 120. How is that going to happen without another first baseman on the roster? Mlb.com actually lists Gimenez as backup 1B?!?! http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/team/depth_chart/?c_id=min
  14. I know he was roughed up and the spring training numbers were awful... still why not give Chargois a shot?
  15. The proof will be in the pudding. It has been difficult to be patient with Falvey- Levine as they have looked nearly the same as the Terry Ryan regime. We need to give the new guys at least 2-3 years before we start making judgments.
  16. It's in the Minnesota sports culture to fret too much over losing borderline players (see Oswlado Arcia). The Twins were burned by David Ortiz so now the fans are paralyzed with fear it will happen again. The Twins lost 103 games last year, roster fluidity should be encouraged.
  17. This is disappointing as I was hoping that Shaggy could slide into the closer's role by midsummer. How much was the demotion influenced by his spring training numbers being down? The importance of spring training numbers has always been mysterious.
  18. The strikeouts from Sano are unsettling.
  19. This is a good report and clearly we have an abundance of talent competing for the starting rotation. Honestly though, why couldn't these guys and Berrios creep into the competition for the 4th rotation spot?
  20. Kintzler (or Perkins if he returns) is not the future. Shaggy should at least get some chances to close right away in 2017, if not be given the job outright.
  21. Good stuff, it reminded that I was at the 1991 six hit Kirby Puckett game.
  22. That would e a real shame if Santana misses his opening day start because of the WBC. Do the Twins have any influence on when he pitches during the WBC?
  23. It's cool to be able to quantify the pitch 'framing' aspect of the game. Has anyone gone back and did a thorough analysis of previous generations of catchers and how their pitch framing lined up with their defensive reputation?
