  1. Alright, I'll drink the Kool Aid on a cold December evening. Although I will never never never NEVER condone the Varland trade. I don't care if Kendry Rojas progresses into a Johan Santana/Frank Viola/Bert Blyleven/Walter Johnson superhero composite. You just don't do that to Louis and the Minnesota fans.
  2. The Twins could use Gallo out of the bullpen: https://www.mlb.com/news/joey-gallo-posts-video-of-pitching-off-mound
  3. I went back and double checked to see if the original post was satire. It isn't, right?!?!? I'm happy I don't have to retract my previous comment. Although you did get me thinking for a moment that I was duped.
  4. "...there is something undeniably entertaining about the idea." Sano is the least entertaining signing I could possibly imagine. If the Twins bring this guy back it would shake my belief in this organization and I've spent the last 4 months defending the Twins after the trade deadline fire sale to family, friends, and coworkers. If the Twins bring back Sano, I might join my many friends who have been decades long Twins fans and have finally said no more.
  5. These are valid points and an interesting perspective. When people are griping about Falvey and the Pohlads and I'm feeling combative, I just might use some of these examples.
  6. One of the reasons that Puckett is the greatest Twins ever, no question asked and no disputes. Without Kirby in 1987 and 1991, this franchise and this sporting market for major league professional men's teams, would have nothing.
  7. I hope the optimistic take turns out correct. I'm just being realistic. I never said I punted on 2026. I plan to attend about 20 games at Target Field next season, so a competitive Twins team seems like a nice blessing to experience.
  8. 💯 in agreement. I'm sure Shelton is a nice fellow and we know he's a solid baseball soldier. Yes, disappointed is the correct word for this hire because it's more of the same old same old that hasn't worked. Perhaps Shelton will have success, I sure hope so. The Twins franchise is quickly cementing their status as a laughingstock to the rest of the league. The Twins get the tired and safe pick of Shelton while the Giants and Nationals go younger with their new managerial choices. https://awaybackgone.com/guardians-fans-won-t-be-able-to-stop-laughing-at-twins-managerial-finalists-01k8jxyrd7hx Guardians fans won't be able to stop laughing at Twins' managerial finalists Not exactly an intimidating list. https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2025/10/30/nationals-and-twins-going-in-very-different-directions-with-their-managerial-hires/ Nationals and Twins Going in Very Different Directions with Their Managerial Hires
  9. It's this injury riddled history combined with the I don't do slumps jinx comment and the 2B comments that turned Royce's once stellar reputation into something viewed by many as sketchy. The fans can only make their judgment based on the information they see and are shown. The human element is a factor in what makes following a team long term interesting. You are right it's all just speculation. The Twins have to just play Royce the next three seasons to see what they have and hope the guy stays healthy. I'd bet you the mortgage he's really a nice kid. It does not matter either way, he needs to produce on the field and stay healthy.
  10. I'm going with the baseball gods smote Royce when he bragged on June 20, 2024, about how he doesn't "do that slump thing".
  11. I do this type of comparison frequently with all the Minnesota men's major league sports teams. Last year, when the Eagles won the Super Bowl, I thought back to the NFC Championship game the week after the Minneapolis Miracle. The Vikings failed to take advantage of the miracle and the chance to play in the Super Bowl in their home stadium and were crushed by the eventual champion Eagles. The Eagles have three Super Bowl appearances and two titles since then while the Vikings are stuck in their usual up and down mediocrity with no franchise quarterback. Same thing with the Timberwolves compared to OKC. They are NBA champs, passing by the Wolves as the top up and coming team and turned it into a championship.
  12. Right. He might be LVP here, however, I saw DaShawn Keirsey Jr. hit a walk-off RBI single on May 11, 2025, to give the Minnesota Twins a 7-6 victory over the San Francisco Giants. He hit the ball 'right at me' toward my seat at Target Field. I had my daughter and grandson with me, so it's just a great memory. Aren't at least a few of these guys the prospect types who were pumped as being the next valuable piece in the lineup? It's why I'm skeptical of the prospect talk hyping a guy who's done nothing in the MLB.
  13. How could the Royce Lewis playoffs moment only be 2 years ago... it feels like 20.
  14. I'm taking it as a lighthearted comment. You are not off base in many respects. I mean, I probably have about 50 years left on this earth... and I'm guessing that my four favorite men's professional sports teams (Twins, Timberwolves, Vikings, Wild) will not win a championship during that time. I could either give up following those teams or sit back and enjoy the experience of the games detached from outcome. What about bringing the "We're gonna win Twins" song to Target Field? I remember it at the Metrodome. I'm with you on the multiple uniforms and team colors. You could pick a hundred Twins fans at a Twins home game and not a one of them would match.
  15. Yes, Gardy was overrated and stayed well past expiration date. Your examples could have been chalked up to bad luck, though at some point the manager needs to shoulder the blame.
  16. There are some fine ideas here. Although, we are forgetting that winning gets rear ends in the seats. Plus, this market is notorious for being fair weather and front running fans. I push back on how expensive the Twins experience is. To go to the Spinal Tap II movie tonight it's $15 per ticket. The ticket costs are reasonable at the Twins games in comparison. For food, you can bring your own food. The value concession stands, family section, and dollar dog nights offer multiple affordable options with minimal effort. It isn't just 612 Saturdays that offer affordable food and drink at Target Field. Finally , parking can be had for $10 on LaSalle Avenue, a few minutes walk through the skyway to Target Field. The $25 in Ramps ABC is a bit pricey, that point is valid. However, there are affordable nearby parking options. Food information: Value Menu Pricing Item Sections/Portables Price Hot Dog Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $3.99 Soft Pretzel Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $4.49 Popcorn Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $3.49 Peanuts Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $2.99 Fountain Soda Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $2.49 Bud/Bud Light Can Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $5.99 Bottle Aquafina Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $3.99 Ice Cream Novelty Sections 120, 133, 311, 323 $3.49 Dollar-A-Dog Days Hot dogs are just $1 at Target Field during every Tuesday home game! Bring the family and enjoy a ballpark classic without breaking the bank Kids Zone Sunday Kids Days are presented by Target. As part of Sunday Kids Days, Target transforms the lawn inside Gate 34 to Bullseye Backyard (Memorial Day – Labor Day), kids 12 and younger can run the bases postgame, PLUS U.S. Bank Kids Meals are half off (reduced from $8 to $4)! Tickets in the family section tonight are $26 after fees and that's for the ticket, hot dog, and soda. You can take your family of four to a Friday night game tonight for $104 plus $25 for parking in Ramps ABC for a total of $129. It seems reasonable for a night of entertainment for a major professional sports league, although I realize all budgets are different.
  17. The mode of 'just enjoy each game regardless of outcome' and don't worry about the future is my plan. It seems the only reasonable choice to stay grounded. We're still watching major league baseball, it's the sport I love.
  18. It's typical to underachieve for the major league professional men's sports teams from Minnesota for the last 34 years. Following that pattern, the Twins tanking the last five years is par for the course and not surprising.
  19. "Hope" = no chance to win the World Series, be a legitimate contender to advance in the playoffs, and not relevant. This is a frustrating place as a serious fan after what happened in 2023 postseason and no World Series appearance since 1991.
