    My patience with Sano is nearly gone. Even as his bat is somewhat better, he has been awful in the field. If we can use him to get some pitching, by all means, trade him.

    Magill has options doesn't he? In any event, today makes DFA'ing a guy with an ERA in the 3's a bit more of a head scratcher.

    It feels like a slow leak that is going to get worse at least for the next week. The front office really needs to make a move and inject some life in the clubhouse ASAP.

    I also couldn't believe they didn't make Schoop bunt in the 9th. He's been awful and you have a chance to get the tying run to 2nd for Kepler and Polanco.

    This is true, but this was also the blessing and curse of him being an all-star. He wasn't sharp in the 1st, gave up a run and threw a ton of pitches. If he's on regular rest, it probably goes differently.

    He's hitting like .140 with RISP. I've seen enough too.

    I also think Rocco wouldn't have removed Gibson if we were playing the Royals or really anyone but the Indians. For all his "every game counts the same" rhetoric, he's managed these two games like the division is on the line, as he should.

    Unless the bullpen is taxed on Friday/Saturday, I'm guessing they go with Mejia and hope to get 4-5 innings since it's the last game before the break.

    Were you able to go back in time and undo the Pressly trade? Please say yes.

    I was thinking the same thing tonight before the HR. Maybe that will snap him out of it, but I doubt it. You have to figure he goes down when Gonzalez comes back if he doesn't turn it around soon.

    Posting his career #'s is a nice distraction. No one disputes he had a successful 2015 or 2017. The issue is that he is trending severely in the wrong direction and isn't getting any younger. His days playing 3B are numbered. And 1B/DH that hit 25 HR's and strike out all the time aren't valuable. You can claim them off waivers from the Rays whenever.

    I literally tell him he's not allowed to swing until he's taken a called strike or he has a 2-0 count.

    I know this is sarcastic, but I think he was important to the clubhouse/vibe of this team and should be brought back ASAP. I know Cave earned this shot with Buxton out, but you know Gonzalez is going to get most of the OF time anyway.

    Cruz didn't come through, but I'll still take him in a big spot. Sano on the other hand, I have zero faith can even make contact in a key spot. And get Blake Parker to the IL and off this team already. He can re-hab during the All-Star break and give it another try before 7/31.

    Good game. Parker is sooo cooked though. They can't keep using in the 8th/9th. I'd sooner re-sign Fernando Rodney or Belisle.

    He's a good defensive catcher who can't hit. Astudillo appears to be an average or slightly below average defensive catcher who can hit. I'll take the later. I'd be happy with a 60/40 split between the two. Garver's future is as a reserve 1B/RF IMO.

    It's not so much how great he is. It's how bad Castro is. And the fact that Bobby Wilson was playing ahead of his is a crime against baseball.

    Can someone explain the logic of why Castro starts over Astudillo? You can't frame enough pitches to make up .100 points in batting average. Every time I watch him catch I figure I'll see passed balls galore and a mess back there and he's always fine.
