  1. Lots of Minnesota fans appreciate him. Don't be fooled by the loud minority voices on this site. The majority of casual fans will be sad to see him go.
  2. So we have another Adam Brett Walker III... Oh boy! Can't wait for the heated debates
  3. That's baseball for you. At least he's good enough to make up the deficit. On the other side of the coin, LaMarre's one good week masked the next 2 months of him playing bad baseball.
  4. That's my concern as well. Frankly I wasn't sure if he should be back in Minnesota anytime this season. It's encouraging that he's lost 20 lbs but I'm hoping for significant weight loss like Kyle Schwarber did last offseason.
  5. Brian Dozier is the equivalent of North Dakota men's hockey. Every year from October - December they start slow, and fans raise their pitchforks asking to fire the coach. Once January rolls around they get red hot, and end up in the NCAA tournament every year.
  6. If I didn't know better, I would think you're making up names on the Rochester roster... Who are these people? Kremmer, Wilkins, Graterol, Hazelbacker... None of these names register with me.
  7. Kinley was an awful decision without requiring hindsight as well. Actually, both of their rule 5 decisions were awful.
  8. Do you get the sense they'll move Sano up the minor leagues like a rehab assignment? I assumed this demotion less about getting his swing back, and more about intervening his life to make better food and exercise choices.
  9. As far as who plays 3B this year, does it really matter? They're not contending for the playoffs. As far as who plays 3B next year, they have all winter to figure that out. I'm in agreement with Chief. Signing Escobar this offseason is signing high. I think we're going to see him drop off in the 2nd half this season.
  10. Not really much of a debate here. Buxton and Sano and no one else is even close. None of the FAs brought in were supposed to be a franchise cornerstone piece. These 2 have to figure things out quickly.
  11. Realmuto is #24 overall on Kiley McDaniel's Trade Value series. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-trade-value-21-to-30/
  12. Unless they start giving relievers pink slips from the 40 man there is very little room and options to call up for position players. Are they going to call up someone with his production this year? Why don't they replace with someone who's doing well in AAA and has a legit chance to be on the 40 man regardless this winter?
  13. I'm not sure why Granite is still on the 40 man to be honest... He's been brutal this season in Rochester. DFA him and add Wade to the 40.
  14. *checks calendar* Yep, right on time. Should be a fun few months for Dozier fans
  15. I'll take Joe over whoever they take in the Rule 5. He's one of my favorite Twins players in my fandom. I don't have expectations of him being great in 2019 and I fully admit it's for nostalgia. It's going to be a long, long time until there's another Twins player that plays 15+ seasons with the team. I'm going to enjoy the last period of time he'll play professionally.
  16. The Twins waste the 25th roster spot all the time on people not worthy of the spot. Waiver wire pickups, rule 5 players, etc. I can't think of a better person that deserves it next year than Joe Mauer.
  17. In spirit of bringing the original topic back... They're not calling up Gordon. He's not ready, nor should they start his service time/option clock now. Get ready for the Taylor Motter show! Or some other middle IF waiver wire pickup.
  18. I was crucified on this very website for saying Dozier is better than Escobar in May...
  19. As far as bad contracts, I'd take Bryan Shaw off their hands. His stats are terrible this year but he was an iron man for Cleveland...
  20. Yes I do. If there's one thing the new regime has done is show ownership creative ways to acquire better talent by taking on additional payroll or eating more of a bad contract.
  21. Why hasn't Reed spent time on the DL? If a pitcher has lost 3-4 MPH on his fastball over the previous year isn't that a classic tell tale sign that he's hurt?
