    I'm right there with you. Problem is are we going to say keep Gibson in June 2019? I don't have any confidence saying that. It's possible he is experiencing a Charlie Morton-like improvement that's sustainable through his early 30s. But I've been burned time and time again by Gibby.

    Casual fans don't care about this team. My mom said it best while they were visiting... Her and my dad attended over 20 games last summer. She knew the typical lineup. This year? She asked who that player was batting 5-9 in the lineup. My response is it doesn't matter he's not going to stick around in the future. The on field product isn't going to generate more interest this season. Or probably next season either. They better upgrade the beer and food options again at Target Field....

    Good thing the person who bought into the strategy of drafting relievers and convert them to starters is no longer here. 2 good months of Duffey in 2015 is all we got from that strategy. Along with multiple blown arms.

    From the other teams' point of view, I would imagine their priority list to target is: Escobar Gibson Duke/Rodney Dozier Odorizzi

    From what I'm reading on Twitter it's about the same. FB around 88-90 MPH and a couple of times hitting 91.

    Throw a dart for someone who was a better option than Hughes... He was on the 25 man roster for 2 months in 2016, 2+ months in 2017, and another month in 2018 before cutting the cord. Haley spent 4 weeks on staff, then another 6 weeks on the DL, and jettisoned off the roster on July 14th. A lot of time for someone not worth a spot on the 40 man. All of the examples I mentioned are from the Falvine era. We also didn't touch upon Breslow, who spent 3+ months in the bullpen with poor results. Overall that's a lot of time they could have used trying out different players. And potentially not losing players that have gone on to pitch on other MLB teams.

    Feels like over half the time I'm scratching my head at their decisions. Think about how many service days have been wasted the last 3 years on Justin Haley, Tyler Kinney, Phil Hughes, Breslow, Belisle, etc. We've been playing with essentially 23 or 24 players throughout their tenure.

    Yes. Getting boiler plate responses hasn't stopped reporters in all sports from asking questions such as "What's your game plan heading into Chicago?" "Is Brett Favre still your starting QB after the bye week?" "Tell me what you're feeling like after that walk off win?"

    It's still worth asking the question whether or not you get an honest, transparent answer. There are multiple beat writers for the StarTribune, PP, and The Athletic. Yet not a single one has raised the question to upper management. Sad, really.

    Agreed. I really doubt Belisle is their choice to keep on roster. If only there were journalists in this town that could ask these kind of questions.

    Moya sent back to AAA. At what point are they ever going to use young relievers so they can build towards 2019? All Moya did was shut down the Brewers for 2 innings yesterday. And Belisle still remains because veteran

    The options are non-existent for help in the lineup... What is going on in Rochester? People that have been in the mix before, or acquired to be considered for the 25 man are ice cold at the plate. Zack Granite: 204 AB .211/.291/.240 3 (!!) RBI Cameron Rupp: Striking out 42% of the time in AAA. .529 OPS during his Rochester visit... .886 when he was on Texas' AAA team. Nick Gordon: 163 AB .233/.254/.331 1 HR 11 RBI in Rochester.

    Vargas hasn't been good in AAA this year. He batted .173 with a .503 OPS in June. His yearly stats have been mentioned before. That's who we need to call up? Look, I'm all for getting rid of Morrison. Suggesting Vargas will do any better is far fetched.

    Look into Roku.... The stock has been going up lately and forecasting a 15% increase over the next year. I bought in a couple of months ago.

    Yeah, I'm not advocating keeping all of them. They need to explore the opportunity cost for each player and determine if it's worth getting another 2 months of production from them, or trade for a modest return. There appears to be relievers waiting as replacements. They'll be in competition with the 12 other teams selling that have relievers as well. I'm not sure if the FO feels Gordon is ready for MLB playing time... It will be interesting to see if Dozier is dealt and the return he would net.

    Correct. The 'value' for 2019 and beyond is relative. They may acquire a fringe 40 man prospect like Enns, or a Zack Jones type that flames out in AA. I guess they're still breathing and on roster which could be valuable.

    I'm sure those names stand out to every seller. The Twins aren't going to get their #2 and #3 org ranked prospects for rental players.

    I'm not sure what you or others think they can get for our players on expiring contracts. It's certainly not going to be anyone who will help the MLB team anytime soon. And I'd argue it probably won't help Cedar Rapids/Fort Myers either. They still need people to wear a Twins uniform the rest of the season. There's very little available to replace those players.
