    The irony of the Twins having a guy named Brady Anderson is that just yesterday as I pondered the fact the Brian Dozier had 42 home runs, the name Brady Anderson came to mind.

    Deal your best and only reliable starter? Makes perfect sense IF you have a replacement ready to step in at the same level. We don't. If 2017 Phil Hughes is going to be 2014 Phil Hughes that makes sense. He won't be. Nothing to see here. Move on.

    Often overlooked possibility about why Polanco spent all of his minor league time at 2B prior to Nunez being traded is that for the five months immediately preceding the six week period preceding the trade Dozier was brutal with a bat in his hand. We are all convinced that those days are behind us. We've been fooled before. Hopefully, not again.

    I think the Gordon ETA is just about perfect. 2014-Rookie League; 2015-Low A; 2016-High A; 2017-AA; 2018-AAA; 2019-The Show. Too often this team moves guys through the lower minors in an orderly fashion and then seemingly succumbs to pressure to rush them thru the upper minors before they are ready. Take the time and do it right the first time so we can avoid repeatedly having to send him back down.

    Obviously you'd take 2016 every year. But, let's be honest, the reason you'd take 2016 is because it's not his 2015. And, NO, I wouldn't take his 2015 every year.

    All AZ did was bring in "names" with no experience in their roles. I think most MN fans are hoping, not for names or even experience in a specific role but guys who have been mentored in a different way of operating a franchise. We brought in a "name" when we fired Gardy. You still need someone to bring in ball players.

    July 2015 thru May 2016 with no month higher than a .216 average is not streaky it's lousy.

    It might be nice to be talking about a guy who puts together great SEASONS not half seasons. Had he tacked this years 2nd half on to last year's 1st half we just might have made the playoffs. Had he started this year the way he finished or even the way he started last year who knows how much differently things may have played out this year. At least IF he finishes out this year the way he's played the last 3 months he will have put together a 4 month season rather than the 3 month seasons we've grown accustomed to.

    You could put ANY name you want as the second word of that last sentence and I would be in total agreement. That being said, I'd fully expect Albers to try to shut me up by tossing a gem tonight but I'm not holding my breath.

    Happy to see Wimmers make the show, but, and I've been very clear and vocal about this, I don't EVER want to see Albers on the big league roster again.
