  1. Baldelli has to figure how to get Astudillo into the line-up, kinda like Gardy did with Punto.
  2. Good thing Rocco pulled Donaldson for a pinch runner, wouldn't want to lose this game....
  3. This may be different by the end of the season, but I think the current offense could use Eddie. His defense is even above average by sabermetrics. Twins LF - .185/.224/.241 0 HR 5 RBI Rosario - .245/.304/.434 2 HR 8 RBI
  4. Strange things happens to the human body when you get a good sweat going and then have to sit when its 35 degrees outside. This spring's weather may be the best argument going forward about starting the season with normally cold weather teams opening on the road where its normally warmer in April.
  5. Unwatchable is unwatchable, doesn't matter if it's April, June or October. This team can't pitch, hit, or field right now. Hopefully one of the veteran players decides to hold a closed-door, players only meeting soon.
  6. Unwatchable, so it's a good thing my provider won't let me watch....
  7. For what its worth, MLB gameday says delayed, not postponed or cancelled.
  8. But to be fair, the players have to execute (read: move the runner over)
  9. Don't know if I the new extra inning rule or the fact that Baldelli doesn't know how to manage for it....
  10. Correct. Tony Gwynn won a batting title this way once.
  11. Qualified leaders for average, slugging, on base percentage and any rate leader (HR/plate appearance,etc...) need to have 3.1 plate appearances per team game. Twins have played 7 games, Buxton has 21 plate appearances, not quite enough.
  12. 2-8 (.250 avg.), 7 BB (9-15, .600 obp) 5 runs scored and 3 RBI. I can see where you thought the bottom of the order wasn't producing.
  13. How about we just scrap the game altogether. The season is in danger of running into November if playoffs get expanded, so let's get rid of an unnecessary week off in July. Play ball!!
  14. There has been a long history of racial tensions (riots, protests and assassinations) in this country and MLB has always chosen to play the games. And always without moving them. This is just one more example of the divide our country has between the left and the right and the guilt felt by the "woke" being pushed on society as a whole. Here is full list of States and their voter identification laws/rules, move the game accordingly I guess: Photo ID required (strict): Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Photo ID requested (non-strict): Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Texas. Non-photo ID required (strict): Arizona, North Dakota, and Ohio. Non-photo ID requested (non-strict): Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, Washington, and West Virginia,. No ID required to vote at ballot box: California, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia, Wyoming, and Washington, D.C. No ID is required to vote in North Carolina as of Dec. 31, 2019.
  15. Kirilloff's clock has not started yet......
  16. Not a fan of keeping Astudillo or Garlick, however, if they outperformed the competition, they earned their spots. That being said, keeping Astudillo allows both Garver and Jeffers to play without fear of losing the backup C, I would use one of them to spell Sano at 1B as both Arraez and Astudillo are too short, in my opinion, to play there, or to give Cruz a day off. If Kirilloff and Rooker show they are ready, both Astudillo and Garlick can be sent down or DFA'd, as both play the OF and can spell 1B and DH and let's face it, a third C is truly a luxury, not a necessity.
  17. I had really hoped the Twins had signed him, turns out to be a good non-signing. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/03/tyler-clippard-shut-down-six-weeks-with-capsule-sprain.html
  18. He is going to have to prove he can stay healthy and that he can play defense somewhere. Singles hitting DH's don't play and don't get paid in today's game.
  19. Could really like watching that swing @ Target Field....
  20. Lynn's ERA for the season was 4.77, it was 5.10 with the Twins, good times.....
  21. The Twins big HR guys hit most of theirs to the pull field...dead ball will probably affect more doubles than homers....
  22. I would be open to Ozuna, but in a couple of years the teams DH spot becomes cloudy as presumably him, Sano and Donaldson would all be better as a DH than as fielders.
  23. MLBPA rejected MLB's proposal, time to sign him or publicly move on. I think with a 26 man roster there is room for him, and if the numbers aren't there by the All-Star break or so, he could be traded or released (or asked to retire and become part of the coaching staff).
  24. '87 was a great a series as was '91, which is when Hrbek lifted Gant of off 1B
  25. Looks like MLB wants 154 game season (starting a month later), expanded play-offs and universal DH. Sounds like its in the hands of MLBPA now.
