  1. I’m extremely disappointed the Twins did not bring up Kirilloff today. No room for him? Find room! AK has done everything the Twins have asked him to do-hit and hit for power. He is a major piece of the Twins future-don’t screw with his head and make him wait for one of the other OFers to get hurt.
  2. I think Rocco is playing with fire with a questionable bullpen. Every game is an adventure. I’m afraid this group of very average relievers will be toast by July.
  3. Kirilloff was one of the reasons I was excited about the TWins this year. I think he has a chance to be a really elite hitter. He has endured his share of bad luck to begin his career with his TJ surgery and now his wrist issues. His presence in the middle of the lineup changes the whole dynamics for the team. I’m surprised you left off Pagan’s turn around (at least for this week) and needed success this weekend. No walks, too!
  4. On the days we face a tough lefty, we need someone to bash those southpaws. That’s certainly not Rooker! Against lefty’s, Sano and Sanchez will almost certainly start, and we do not need another swing and miss guy. Garlick has shown this spring and last year that he smashes lefties, and is certainly better than Rooker defensively. Come on, Twins, this is not a hard call!
  5. As excited as I am to get Correa, I’m wondering what the holdup is getting him to camp? It looks like he’ll sign officially on Wednesday, and that gives him about 2 weeks to get ready. Really?
  6. I can just see the next team the Twins are supposedly dealing with:” now that you idiots backed yourself in a corner, we need for you to add, say Buxton??”
  7. My guess they wanted to unload Donaldson and the Yankees would only go along if they could dump Sanchez and get a viable SS. Yuk!
  8. I really think the Minnesota sports teams are losing their minds!!
  9. I can hardly wait for the Twin’s explanation of this. Looks like a salary dump to me!
  10. I Was looking forward to the start of ST, but then one of my favorite players was traded! Falvine better find some pitchers, or it’s going to be a long season!
  11. If Kepler indeed needs to go on the IL, hopefully they will bring up Kirillof! He deserves a chance-Twins need to play their best players!
  12. In a short season, days like today are hard to overcome. This team has been pathetic against left handers, and as pointed out by Doc and others, the loss of the protection (Donaldson, Graver, and Buxton) has been crippling! This organization has always had this weakness, and is probably why they went out and got The Rain Man. I’m also disappointed in Baldeli-his use of Thorpe in a 2 run game, with a rested bullpen, was (fill in your own adjective). Mine isn’t printable. I’m not sold on his judgement in these situations. Finally, Kirillof, Lewis and others sit unused in a wasted year for their development. I don’t have any specific answers, but I think they at least would have given a better effort today!
  13. I don’t hate this trade: I remember Graterol throwing 100+, but if it’s straight, major league hitters can rip that.
  14. Worried about Kepler. Last swing, actually last 2 swings, were painful to watch. We need a healthy Kep!
  15. You can’t stretch the starters when you are at 100+ pitches in the 4th inning! All our starters nibble too much. The bullpen is what it is-decent players that are constantly overworked. As far as our defense goes, the team has lived and died with the HR’s this year while the defense has been just ok until the last couple of weeks or so. Posters are on Polanco today because of his errors, but I think he’s been ok for an offense-minded SS. These are the “dog days,” gentlemen, and the players have to push through fatigue, and days like today are going to happen. As Aaron Rogers would say, “R E L A X “ Have some faith in this product, however faulty it’s construction! How many of you thought we’d be in this position in spring training?
  16. Great article-well thought out and extremely well written. Personally, I’d go with your first 6 and add Thorpe and Smeltzer. I like the idea of having a “loogy” if needed to stop a big inning and/or to pitch in long relief.
  17. If the Twins are indeed “going got it,” they should swap Cave and Kiriloff. Can’t be any worse. Play the best players!!
  18. Great article! I’ve noticed this problem much earlier than Rosario’s ankle problems. His method of “hot dogging” every catch has bugged me for a long time. It has cost the Twins at least one game. I also noticed today that he certainly didn’t hustle out of the box on his “single” on the Twins last RBI. My grandson would be pissed with my comments-Rosario is his favorite player. And if he is playing hurt-that’s one thing. But if he’s just not playing hard, that’s another. I would hope someone in the clubhouse would address that. I’m not sure that Rocco is the type of manager to hold him accountable.
  19. Seems that this article was written as an encouragement to trade Kirilloff. I’d rather trade Lewis, if we have to. Kirilloff is an elite hitter. I don’t think he’s blocked by the current OF. You never know what’s going to happen- maybe Rosario’s contract demands make him expendable. Is it possible that Lewis is the one that is actually blocked? Seems to me that the middle infield could be set for years! And the idea that Lewis could end up in CF is undercut with Buxton’s emergence. Hey, I love both these guys. Kirilloff is just more of a sure thing to me.
  20. I’m ok with trading Lewis for someone like Thor. Kirilloff is the guy that would be untouchable. Hopefully, they will look at relievers who are signed through 2020.
  21. I was at both games, and it was not pretty. Not because they lost-that happens. Lack of energy, effort, and enthusiasm is not acceptable! Tuesday night’s game was horrible except for Arraez’s amazing AB in the 9th. Sano and Schoop made sloppy errors. But today’s game took the cake! May’s HR pitch happens- you’d think he’d learn, but maybe not. But Rosario’s hot dog effort on an easy fly ball was horrendous! This one is on Rocco. Chief is spot on!
  22. Saw the AB in person, and I still don’t believe what I saw. Too bad the rest of the team didn’t have his energy for the last 2 days!
  23. Just saw Twins starting lineup......... better hope Berrios shuts them out and they can somehow scrape out a run or two. If this was a spring training game, the Twins would be fined for bringing so few starters!
