    At shortstop? I value defense far more than offense. A great glove at shortstop will provide far more wins than w weak glove with offensive potential (or why move Polanco to second?).

    After reading through this interesting debate, I only have one question. What happened to the discussion about Odorizzi? That seems to have disappeared.

    I saw him play at Nicolette Park a couple years ago (about 66 years ago if I remember correctly).

    From everything I've read, it is Cruz who is doing the waiting, not the Twins. Ergo (as we used to say in high school Latin class), Cruz shouldn't take a late signing as "personal".

    The Twins are only Odorizzi and Cruz away from an outstanding off-season. Any other needed parts can be filled internally.

    2018 the left side of the infield was Sano and Polanco. Now it's Donaldson and Simmons. The team ERA just dropped 30%. Great signing.

    Does anyone else have the feeling that the front office is just going to sign some low-cost relief help and put their faith in the "prospects" they've been protecting for the past several years? I could live with that but I just wish they would announce it and quit getting our hopes up.

    Some good news. The so far uninspiring off-season has finally produced some excitement. MLB Rumors is saying that the Twins are very close to signing a replacement for Nelson Cruz in Tony "Two-Ton" Spagnola. Two-Ton is the 6'1", 320-pound DH for the North Side Gut Busters from the South Milwaukee Slo-Pitch league. He reportedly hit 212 home runs last season in the COVID-shortened 2020 season. He has no defensive value and his running ability is somewhat of a liability. If he isn't able to do a home run trot, he can only managed to run 60 feet before having to catch his breath. But the Twins have made a move!!!

    I live in Maine and I am the only sports watcher in my house. In 2019, I bought the MLB.com single-team package for about $100. The only games that were blacked out were Red Sox games which NESN carried. So I had access to every game. What I discovered was, that for personally, baseball was too slow to watch. After about a month, I started to tune when I thought it was close to being completed, fast forwarding through games waiting for the score to change, and then rewinding to see what happened. For me (again, personally), baseball is a game to be seen in person or with a group on TV. I cancelled my subscription before the 2020 season (and was that a great decision).

    I thought all four Mets' players were being traded for Kindle and I thought it was a little bit too much. But then I read that the Mets also got Carrasco. Bad trade for Cleveland.

    $50M available to spend? Bauer, Hand, and Gregorius would fit and still have $$$ left for other low-end pieces. Geez, do something so I can quit thinking about the pandemic, unemployment, and losing my house.

    There is a big difference between spending money and being crazy. I put Snyder in the crazy category. I just think that now is the time to increase the salary budget by 10% and bring home some playoff success.

    If you like pitching stats, look at the Oriole starters 1971-1973. Dobsen, Cuellar, McNally and Palmer.

    Do you subscribe to other conspiracy theories, or just ownership collusion? I understand the economics of ownership. All I was "attempting" to point out is that this would be a great time to think outside the box and build the team.
