    Did the Twins have a time machine? It sounds like they traded Viola a couple of years after the '91 season, got some useful pieces in the trade, and then traveled back in time to use those pieces in '91. I must have missed that maneuver.

    I don't give a rat's a$$ where Buck ranks in the eyes of mathematical statistics. I enjoy watching him play CF. And he is, beyond any doubt, the best the Twins have to play CF in 2026. Just enjoy watching him while you can and ignore the bullpen shenanigans.

Are spots in the lineup really far from guaranteed? It seems like the past several years would say otherwise. Hopefully, the changes in the front office and manager will make this comment a reality.

    Absolutely. But I also like accurate writing.

    two cents worth..... Right now, I would rather see Houston at SS and Culpepper at 2B, Keashall at1B, ERod in RF, and leave Martin in LF. The Twins might lose a lot of games but at least the defense wouldn't be the deciding factor. And it would make for exciting baseball.

    The MiLB teams were 1 and 3 for the day. I would not classify that as a good day.

    A strong arm is more important at SS than at 3B. The SS has less time and a longer throw.

    The median income in San Diego is just over $108,000 compared to the Twin Cities median income of $80,000 (in 2024 dollars; source census.gov). In my opinion, the wealth of the area creates more "value" for a franchise than the typically used market size. But even if my hypothesis is valid, the product on the field (trying to win versus trying to protect the bottom line) determines the team value. Who wants to buy a crappy product, especially when two valuable pieces (Ryan and Jeffers) are poised to jump ship. Invest in the future now (extensions and free agent signings) and then put the team on the market.

    Caratini is also looking good at challenges. Now if the Twins can prevent Wallner from making challenges, ABS may really help the Twins.

    Of course they can't. But it doesn't contradict that some seem to have a knack for doing it and others play in the minors.

    I'll take zero runs allowed over all your xyzERA/FIPPITY DIPPITY "advanced" metrics. If Abel keeps allowing two or less runs per start, I'll be very happy even if the advanced metrics tell me he sucks. And then, your "working out of a jam isn't a thing" comment. HUH? Is that because no one has invented a mythical statistic to measure it?

    I don't know if he will sustain this pace. I really doubt he will. But, I was commenting on the statement that Lee had "barely" improved lately.

    So far this season, after 10 game, Houston is hitting .289 with an OPS of .883. There is hope.

    You should be sorry. You responded to a post that didn't mention Wallner.
