  1. RpR strongly disagrees with you. But he always takes the negative view. 😄
  2. Still sounds like b.s. to me. To me, the best metric (?) for a relief pitcher is: does he consistently get people out, or GPO. But I guess I would need to add a "+" sign (GPO+) to make that an official metric.
  3. The question (to me at least) is why was he kept at SS for such a long time? His lack of speed and/or range should have been obvious several years ago. That's when a change of position should have taken place.
  4. "(and now some clarity on the team's direction)" Clarity? Just because Falvey is saying that: A. They want to be competitive in 2026 B. They probably won't trade Lopez, Ryan or Buxton C. There may be some money available to the front office.... doesn't give me any more clarity than I previously had.
  5. Yikes. No one ever said to keep a player at his "preferred position". They said to find the best position for a player when they are in the minors, give him the proper coaching to make him proficient and then let him play at that position until is ready to be called up.
  6. There are too many players to be signed or traded for the Twins to act. They have to wait until the choices are few and not impactful. That is their MO.
  7. A great example of one person mansplaining to a group of billionaires.
  8. I understand that the draft will be revealed this afternoon. But wasn't it already held on Sunday and everyone was sworn to secrecy until the league could make a big show out of it? If true, then they didn't keep it much of a secret. I read (and watched a video) of the Cleveland Guardians winning the first pick (2% chance) and dancing around their headquarters. I won't guarantee it's veracity, but if it is, what does it do to the Twins?
  9. I've never seen one player get traded for 40 or 45 prospects. That's a lot of people. 😄
  10. If that's what you meant, you probably should have said that. Just a suggestion, but I always read my posts before submitting them because often times what you type isn't what you meant. In my past life as an editor of technical manuals (boring!), I would go back to the authors and ask them if they really intended to say what they wrote. Very common.
  11. If the 2026 payroll isn't decided on until March 1st, the only free agents still aound will be the leftovers. The budget needs to be decided now so the front office can move forward on building a "contender" for 2026.
  12. If Outman gets a haircut, maybe he makes the opening day roster. Otherwise, he's gone.
  13. This article is very interesting to me. IMHO, the four questions that are being asked are the same four questions that have been asked by most articles at TD since the 2025 season ended. The only difference is they are asked under the pretext that the winter meetings might answer them. And, of course, the responses from readers are the same as the answers in the many previous articles. Do people save their previous responses in a Word file and then "cut and paste" them as needed? The only thing that I'm expecting at these meetings is the finalization of the Twins' draft position. If anything else happens, we can discuss.
  14. The Twins may only win 75 games this upcoming season. Why spend any money on older relief pitchers? I am of the opinion that turning minor league starters who aren't on the fast track to becoming major league starters should be given 2026 to prove they can be MLB relief pitchers.
  15. I took golf lessons over 15 years ago where they used similar technology to track my swing and then superimposed my swing over that of a PGA player with a comparable swing. I made minor tweaks that I would not have comprehended if explained non-visually. It greatly improved my ball striking - but not my score. I still couldn't putt.
  16. What other players exist beyond "high, middle and lower tiered especially"?
  17. Barf, barf, and more barf. The front office needs to meet with the young arms who are currently starters but they feel would be good relievers and ask the a single question. Would you rather continue starting but remain in the minors making $35k or switch to relief and join the big club and make $800K? I would be curious to see how many would prefer a minimal salary in order to chase a dream. I know I would jump at the chance to give it a try.
  18. Why in the world is the Caribbean Winter League All-Star game in New York??? Winter baseball in New York City is not something I would find desirable.
