  1. I read at mlb.com that the Hoffman trade also included Toronto received "international bonus pool space". What does this mean?
  2. There is a possibility that no one would cough up enough prospects to make trading Jeffers worthwhile and maybe no one wanted a slow footed, bad defensively platoon outfielder. I would have liked to see it happen, but it didn't.
  3. Still seven minutes left according to my watch. It's possible another trade could happen.
  4. Caratini had his back to the 3rd base line. Because of that, there was no way he would be able to locate the runner. Yes, it wasn't a good throw, but if Caratini would have move a little to his right, he would have seen where the runner was and dove to a spot that would intercept his slide. The runner may still have been safe, but the play would have been much closer. He also would not have to make a "matador" tag attempt.
  5. To me it .looked like Caratini wasn't in great position to make a play. I give him a little of the blame also.
  6. Skubel is a free agent after the World Series. That drops his value significantly.
  7. Or he could be part of another trade. Jeffers, Minton, and 10-20 prospect for a close-to-MLB starter with several years oc control.
  8. Almost nothing happens? Months of work put in by 50 or 60 people is nothing. Or maybe you were. Being sarcastic. If so, good job. I agree that fans won't hear the honest truth until 5:00PM on draft deadline day.
  9. There are only 4 games remaining before the trade deadline arrives. To me, Gray does not spell urgency.
  10. If that is what the front office believes, then they should be trading everyone for prospects that haven't started their service time clock.
  11. Geez! Thre's a lot of time and effort put into making a trade. I thought the front office met on the morning of the trade deadline, got drunk, and started prank calling other teams.
  12. THANK you for ALLOWING me to BE content. That's very BIG of you. (The use of all caps is sarcastic.)
  13. That's a '27 problem? That's an every year problem. There hasn't been anyone in the Twins FO who was forward looking. Maybe Tom Pohlad will be different. The trade deadline and the upcoming off season will provide the answer. (Sounds like a magic 8-Ball saying - all will be revealed later.)
  14. The view from my TV is perfectly fine. And if the Twins aren't in the playoffs, I'm very content. And who cares what player is sitting in the dugout?
  15. The 2025 and 2026 seasons are certainly not recency bias, I agree with you that they need to think of 2027 and beyond. Trade all expiring contracts.
  16. I think every trade is a crap shoot. Injuries happen. Arms fall off. Your new hero falls on an icy step and blows his knee out (Southerners should not be outside in winter-like weather conditions).
  17. The 30% chance to make the playoffs does not impress me. The playoffs are pretty watered down. Six AL teams make the playoffs. The six currently leading the race to the playoffs are the only teams playing over .500. That's sad. I would be far more interested in the odds of the Twins winning their first series (either as a wild card or division champion). My opinion is that the percent chance would be quite low. Time to trade (I hate the term "sell") Jeffers, Larnach, Bell, Ryan (if he indicates he's going FA), Kreidler, Wallner, Lewis, Martin, and Ober (some of these no one might want). Fill the roster with prospects and let's see what they can do with a full two month tryout. Attendance can't get too much lower and besides, we aren't fans because we want ownership to make money.
