In 2026 he wants to put basically the same team on the field that lost over 90 games last year and judge that team on how well they play. And if they are still playing "meaningful" games at the end of the year, then he will consider increasing the payroll. First of all, he never defines "meaningful" so he can answer any outcome any way he desires. And second, he needs to improve the team to play meaningful games in September. There are three ways to improve a team: 1) hope everyone magically gets better, 2) spend money to acquire players that are better than current players, and 3) make smart trades (HaHaHa. I had to laugh at that). I guess he is choosing the first option.

    I can see why "no one expects Lee to log 140 games" at SS in 2026. After all, he only logged 139 games in 2025. Last year, Lee hit .236 which is one point higher than the MLB average. But because his defense is considered unacceptable, why not stick Houston at SS? His hitting is a big question mark but his defense is elite. Mark Belanger played 18 years and had a lifetime BA of .226. That was 30 points below league average when he played. In 2025 the average batting average was .235. If Houston can hit around .200, he should be playing. Last year, the Twins playing Christian Vasquez hitting .189, Wallner hitting .202, and Clemens hitting .216. Vasquez is gone, Wallner - who knows - and Clemens probably will play less. So I think there is room for quality defense at SS.

    The Twins can tell agents and rival teams that they checked in on Valdez and Peralta, and technically, that can be true. It also does not mean they were ever close. I think that says it all. If there are any pennies available to spend, spend them on a relief pitcher (or tell us that Raya, Prielipp, Morris, and Matthews are now members of the bullpen).

    Even if all four make a top-100 list next year, it won't increase the total number of Twins on it because there "could" be an equal number joining the Twins this year and no longer eligible for top-100 lists. (I hope).

    Hitting straight gas or deceptive gas is impossible. Regardless of whether the gas is nitrogen, oxygen, noble, or deceptive, gas by definition is a non-solid and you can't hit something with a bat that isn't solid.

    Strange article. Most of it was about pitchers that the Twins did not claim on waivers and are doing okay with other teams. And then the bombshell. The guy the Twins did pick up on waivers has a career ERA over 8.00. Great lead-in to that tidbit.

    Only at Twins Daily do the Twins have "one of baseball's highest-ranked minor league systems". The latest rankings (published just a few days ago) have them roughly in the middle of the pack (17th by Kieth Law). And most of the seven players you mentioned as proof of his success with minor league players arrived in the big leagues because of injuries or the Great Sell-off of 2025. Only Ober could be considered a "success". Otherwise: Lewis: one good season Lee: there isn't any other shortstop Keuschell: small sample size Wallner: all hit, no field - and the hitting isn't that great Matthews and Festa: major league ERAs over 6.00

    Because there have been so many postings on Twins Daily that spelled out exactly how to fix the Minnesota Twins, how many of you are updating their resumes right now and preparing to apply for Falvey's position?

    I don't really care how they got their money. They are now investors but do they have any voice in how the team makes on-field decisions?

    Keith Law and Ken Rosenfeld released the Athletic's top ten farm systems this morning and the Twins were not listed.

    Expecting Cruz to make Sano GG (which I assume means Gold Glove?) is wrong on two levels. First, Cruz was a hitter, not a fielder. And second, asking Cruz to turn Sano into a Gold Glove candidate is like asking Wolfgang Puck to make a Michelin-star meal out of rotting vegetables and the grizzle from a cheap cut of meat. There has to be some inherent ability with which Cruz could work.

    Aren't the White Sox and the Pale Hose the same team? Sounds like a lack of communication in the front office. Similar to when my wife and my mother were at an antique auction and ended up bidding against one another trying to win a piece of furniture we wanted. We did have the winning bid; I just don't remember which of the two made it.

    I just read this article and I cannot find any mention of Moran in it. Was he edited out because of the crowd shaming?

    The Twins traded Nate Baez for Gray. I live near the home of Boston's AA farm team - the Portland Sea dogs. I've never heard of Tristan Gray.
